Kos Begins Campaign Against Eric Cantor for VP

A few weeks ago I made the case for John McCain to choose Congressman Eric Cantor for his running mate. Since that time a Cantor candidacy has received quite a bit to support.

Politico, The Washington Post, and (now) Daily Kos are taking Cantor very seriously.

Kos has launched a multi-post attack on the conservative Cantor. This is an indication that the Left understands that the articulate, web-savy, conservative, Mr. Cantor would add an important missing dimension to McCain's campaign. No higher negative campliment can the Left offer a Republican candidate.

Once again, I want to argue that the choice of Cantor will cause the Republican base and a few Democrat constituencies to sit up and finally take notice of the McCain campaign.

A diary at Daily Kos

which has three comments is quite a bit different than Kos going after Cantor.

Kos knows who Cantor is, You know who Cantor is....

....the country doesn't know who Cantor is.

It's the silly season for Conservatives. We'd see arguments here for Piltdown Man if said fraudulence got up before the NRA Convention and made a stemwinder on behalf of a purist interpretation of the Second Amendment.

Stop the Madness: McCain needs to choose someone the people can accept as President if something happens to him. I"m partial to Condi Rice of course, but I don't think McCain is going there. If he doesn't pick Condi, he should choose Jeb Bush, and tell the D's to go take a long walk off a short pier.

Who Knew Obama? Condi?

Whoever McCain chooses will be nationally known overnight. Who knew who Obama was? A good case can be made that not being known was a huge assest for Obama.

Cantor is young, accomplished, and articluate. He is also an excellent campaigner, he has been McCain's most effective surrogate against Obama.

Condi Rice? The appeaser of Iran and North Korea? The Secretary of State who is in clearly over her head.
