Rep. John Shimkus: God decides when the "earth will end"
Submitted by bachmann2012 on Wed, 04/01/2009 - 10:45
From the March 25, 2009 hearing of the U.S. House Subcommittee on Energy and Environment.
Rep. Shimkus certainly cleared up a theological dilemma for me since he reconciled the dinasaurs and their environment with the Bible. Yay! Also, wonderful faith affirming news about the fate of the earth. How often we forget to just go to the source of all wisdom!

the GOP is imploding
Because of deranged politicians like this who basically guarantee that rational moderates are not returning to the GOP fold anytime soon.
A lot of people think Obama is trying to take advantage of the financial crisis to get his agenda passed. I see it another way. The GOP has become corrupted and fragmented as a political party (thus this site exists) and Obama is literally attempting to "run the table" on them.
If the economy rebounds and the Dems pick up more seats, I think the chance of a full-scale GOP meltdown and fragmentation is very possible.as their tattered coalition of constituents try to find effective representation anywhere.
Times are so desperate that the loons in the party are now blathering about armed insurrection, as if they'd actually skip a NASCAR race to face off against SWAT teams.
they would. the gun smugglers and the fine folks of utah.
1 in 20 chance of a US Civil War within the next ten or twenty years.
haha
In 10-20 years, most of the current "armed insurrection" movement will be on Social Security and will have no desire to cut government spending.
Look what happened to the militia movement in the 90s. One group became delusional enough to actually do something and the entire country recoiled in horror. After that eye-opener, all of the other insurgent-wannabes meekly sat back down on the couch and went back to griping about brown people and how the South lost the war.
Also remarkable is how they sat quietly through all of the very real executive grabs of power during the last Republican administration but scream FASCIST as soon as a Democrat puts strings on federal bailout money.
It's laughable. They claim to be principled, but they're really just Republican partisan hacks who lean on their gun collections as substitutes for actual constitutional integrity.
I loathe militias.
then again, do recall that I know the liberal who put the commercial on TV about Obama stealing everyone's guns with jackbooted thugs. Claims he gets good ammo sales from it. ;-) And that's one way to get people's names and addresses -- legally speaking.
Enough Americans are nuts, and if the South really goes to hell, people will be glad down there for their guns, as the police will probably be bought off by the local rich dudes (the South is a poor, poor place, and can't really sustain itself without help from the federal gov't).
This man needs help!!!!
Before any bible thumping bone heads go around reciting the bible they should read the book "A Deadly Misunderstanding" by Former Republican Congressman and Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations Mark D. Siljander. Will the Republicans ever learn????? This book is a great read, and if you like history you will enjoy it more!!
