The New Baby

I opened the bedroom door to find the kids were already up and active throughout the house. The oldest was working on cereal for the little guys and the little guys had already thought of a chasing game to play. This morning sickness really starts my day behind schedule, but Jim was so happy to hear we are having another baby. The kids were looking forward to having another member of the family.

So we start our day and start the assembly line to get the kids fed and dressed and ready for school. In the front yard, I checked the mail and there was a letter from the government, putting it aside I called Jim to see if he was expecting anything, he said to just leave it until he gets home that evening.

More work to do with the kids and follow up appointments with the doctors since they require extra testing now that I'm over 32. Wish they would just be happy for me having my 4th child and not worry so much about my high risk category. The kids want to know more about the new baby, so we watch a PBS special on the development of the baby that I had recorded when the last one was due 3 years ago. God is so good in the miracle of these babies.

After schooling, the kids are busy playing outside while I'm getting dinner together, which is harder to do nowadays. Jim is fabulous at grilling during these first few months of pregnancy, knowing I can barely handle getting everyone fed without tossing cookies. With the kids settled into a bath routine, Jim is working on today's mail and paper work when he opens the letter from the government. He let's me know he needs to talk about it once the bed time stories are done.

Coming downstairs, I see that he face is ashen. "What's the matter? ""You better read this letter," he replies. I take the letter. "With your maternal age over 32 and your high risk pregnancy, along with the fact that you already have more than the assigned 2 children, it has been determined that this pregnancy is not to the benefit of the community. You are hereby required to report to the Planned Parenthood Abortion Clinic at 3PM tomorrow for termination of this pregnancy. Failure to show up will result in your arrest and confiscation of your house and your children remanded to Children's Protective Services."

My heart stops as I awake in a cold sweat. And I hear in my thoughts, it was only a dream, only a dream. Yes, it's only a dream, if this story had been true, we would be living with National Health Care.

Leading the Nation like a Pied Piper

I'm writing this as the nation votes for the next President of the United States. We've seen the young people following this Pied Piper all over this Nation. There are reports of friends telling friends to ignore their brain and vote their emotion.. Reports are coming in of kids voting for Obama in their schools after given certain articles to read. How could a Pied Piper come in with hypnotic words lead a whole generation toward a Marxist vision for this Country?

It starts every day when the children of America are sent to Marxist schools. Who do you think composed those 3,200 signatures on the petition defending Jeff Ayers? They were teachers, and teachers of teachers known as professors. Their vision of America taught in the public schools (although they long ago stopped being what the public wanted for their children) is a Marists world.

Long ago many schools began pooling the supplies of elementary schools, so that everyone gave into the common supplies for each class. Then when your child needs a Kleenex or a crayon or a pencil, they had to ask the teacher and receive one from the common supplies. We recognize this as teaching socialism; teachers believe it helps self esteem so no one has better supplies than the other.

In the last 20 years, ministries that teach World View to adults and teens in churches had sprung up all over the country. Why? Because the Christian History of this Nation was not being taught in the public schools. The Capitalistic History has not been taught in the public schools. If you ever visit your child's school and sit in on a class (if they still permit this) you will be shocked at what is being taught, what stories are emphasized, and what stories are never mentioned. The teachers have final say in what is actually taught in their classrooms. It's their world view that is spread to all of your children for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week 180 days a year. Do you spend anywhere near that much time with your children teaching them about your world view, your belief system, your view of life?

The wonderful thing about homeschooling is time with your children. You pick the history books your child reads. You can decide if they read a text book that mentions the Constitution or if they actually read the Constitution. You decide if they read about the Gettysburg address, or if they actually read the Gettysburg address. You can decide to take your children to those historic places where many re-enactors make the history of this country come alive and becomes a part of your child's life experience. Your children can be taught the real history of our country.

And we know that an informed public will not follow a Pied Piper.

Teachers know this also, hence the dumbing down of our education for the last 35 years.

The Education Debate

The Presidential Debate was similar to a boxing match this round.  Both candidates jabbed and ducked, came close to a hit and backed off.  Then, finally at the end of the debate, the question finally turned to education, a subject near and dear to my heart.

But Obama's comment about parents getting involved and turning off the TV and helping the child with that desire to learn just about flipped me out!

Why is it always the parents fault when the child is failing?  How can a working parent's 3 hours a night with their children bring back the love of learning that 8 hours of supervision by a teaching system that has drilled the love of learning out of the children?

The education in most public schools today is one of sharing everything and ownership of nothing; of taking tests in teams; where nobody can lose so nobody can win.  The incessant demand to draw inside the lines and cows are always brown attitude of the system keeps children's love of learning in check until it's so dead that we have to de-school kids who are homeschooled.

It takes about 1 month for every year in public school to get the kids back to where they know who they really are, what they really love and for their sense of exploration to return.  During this time of de-schooling, parents are encouraged to allow their children to vege, to read what they want to read and to take kids on field trips to live activities in their communities.

We have many stories of children who come alive again after their parents take FULL control of their education.  These are children who discover their love of learning again and turn their grades around, who go to college, or become great artists, engineers, debaters, or athletes.

So Senator Obama's pointing the blame at parents is just another form of the Democratic blame game.

Reform education, stop sending billions of dollars into the failed system!  Get rid of the stronghold that unions have on the teachers.  Let innovative teachers and charter schools lead the way.  Then we will see children keep that love of learning that made past generations so great.

Death of Conservatism: Jimmy Carter's Legacy

While all America breathed a collective sigh of relief when Jimmy Carter left the White House, (looking forward with real anticipation to the Presidency of Ronald Reagan which would bring common sense and respect back to government) little did we know that the latent ticking time bomb that Carter left behind would ultimately destroy all that Reagan would build.

Of all the far-left liberal programs and policies that Carter brought into the government, the stealth bomb that has had the most damaging impact on the stability and character of the country was Carter's establishment of the National Education Agency. Little by little over the last 30 years, America's public schools have been turned from expressions of the community's concerns for their children into propagandized, federally-controlled government schools. While the populace still want to believe that their neighborhood little red school house is still the best place for their children, the facts suggest otherwise. Just consider the stories of teachers sexually abusing the kids, which started popping up yearly, then monthly and now weekly. School shootings, which used to surprise and horrify us, are now a uniquely American rite of spring. Half the freshmen in most schools do not graduate. They had no choice but to go to school when they were six, but by the time they're 16 they've grown up enough to walk out.

What do these kids who are fleeing school in unprecedented numbers know about those schools that their parents either don't know or refuse to acknowledge? The kids know that the teachers are not teaching the core elements of education: reading, writing and arithmetic. The kids know that schools are teaching Sex Ed in kindergarten - and teaching sexual techniques to grade-schoolers that their parents never heard of. The kids know that their teachers are reading magazines in chemistry classes instead of teaching chemistry. Finally, these school kids know that so-called educators are using psychology methods to change how the children think - as well as what they think - about issues; pushing a perverse morality that would horrify their parents if those parents really stopped to think things through. Teachers and "educators" are more interested in changing kids' minds away from their parents' archaic principled conservative ideas than they are in teaching these kids about the real, heroic and ultimately noble history of the United States. Public school children no longer learn about the actual words in the Constitution, instead they are told how that the old white guys who wrote the Constitution are the real reason for all our problems.

So, when Obama claims that he has gone to 57 states - with one yet to go - no one notices the gaff, or if they notice, nobody cares. Jay Leno has found a plethora of people on the street to interview week after week who cannot identify countries, leaders of nations, or know about basic United States historical events.

As America's solid-citizen conservative parents continue to send their children to Federal-pattern government schools, they don't seem to realize that they are putting their children under the influence of the socialistic ideas that are routinely and "officially" taught in those schools. After all, children are expected to respect and learn from their teachers. It's been long noted in all cultures that students will become just like their teachers.

When concerned parents volunteer at their kids' schools, they are given busy work
- or they are used as cheerleaders intent on helping the already bloated school districts to bring in even more money by sending their children door to door to sell popcorn or gift wrapping for play equipment. Oddly, that 300 million bond issue was able to build palaces for administrators and to buy "blame American first" history textbooks, but it was just not enough to buy dodge balls for the school.

All the while, the courts have issued one decision after another, building an impenetrable body of case law that increasingly rules against parents having any influence on the instructions of their children - from a distorted history of America to sex-ed classes that include "safe-sex" how-to instructions. It has gone to the point that, in one Massachusetts decision, courts have ruled that parents have no say in when the child will be taught what. In essence, parents are told - basically - to hand their child over to the schools, at the door, and trust that Big Brother Knows Best.

Thanks to Jimmy Carter, we now have government schools which have been teaching state-sponsored liberalism for about 30 years, controlling the knowledge and attitudes of America's generations under 40 years of age. Those public school graduates are the *young people* who believe what Obama has to say when spews his socialism. When Congresswoman Maxine Waters advocates nationalizing an industry, or when Clinton demands Universal Health Care, these mis-educated now-young-adults have no idea that these extreme measures are not authorized in OUR constitution, but they are enshrined as public policy in the constitution of socialist nations around the world.

The ideals of individualism, of limited government, of self reliance and self responsibility are increasingly foreign to our citizens - especially citizens under age-40 - because this Jimmy Carter stealth bomb has, in fact, exploded in every school in America.

Yet, American business which are forced to spend over $9 billion dollars a year just to educate their employees - because those employees, victimized by our bloated education system were not educated - continue to support and send money to publicly funded institutions called public schools.

Schools across American have the nation's citizens under the gun - they take our property taxes with promises of improving education - yet fail to deliver educated citizens. These public schools are not educating our children - high school graduates cannot support themselves or their future families without further training and education.

Yet in spite of the evidence of a total breakdown of the country's educational system, most people will not even consider alternative systems or alternative educational choices. Instead, they patriotically continue send their children to public schools, and their tax dollars to school administrators. After all, that's what made this country great in the past: a good education system.

Welcome to the post-Carter era - an age when public education does more harm than good.
