In 1988 Joe Biden had two brain aneurysms. Serious to be sure but he's been healthy for twenty years. Good for him. However, there is a rumor that he will withdraw after the VP debate claiming health concerns and be replaced as the nominee by Hillary Clinton. Such a move could be a game-changer though hard to pull off should the rumor become common knowledge in advance of the debate...

Obama thinks he can take Florida and demonstrates he is willing to tell outright lies to do it. Scaring elderly voters is despicable but if you are an "end justifies the means" kind of pol, it's apparently perfectly acceptable.

Charlie Gibson played a little gotcha last night. It could have been worse but Governor Palin did very well despite the mild condescension.

The 'Bush Doctrine' question is the one getting the most coverage today but how many of us would have done any better? I've put up a very unscientific poll just to get a sense of whether or not viewers knew exactly what Gibson meant.

Kevin McCullough grabbed it first. MSNBC execs have wised up and relegated their most partisan talking heads to limited duty. Olbermann and Matthews have lost their anchor slots and been relegated to analyst duty at least for the debates as well as election night coverage.

Smart move for MSNBC but it won't remove the partisan taint especially with the network planning to retain KO through 2013.

Sarah Palin dissed for inferior intellect by Jamie Lee Curtis and on HuffPo no less? Doesn't Curtis know the demographic for the product she hawks, Dannon yogurt, is women? Doh! Talk about biting the hand that feeds you! NewsBusters has the details.
