There is any easy path back: Force Democrats to Commit to a Particular Vision for America.

To do this, consider a coalition between the Green and the Republican Parties.

Crazy you say?

Hear me out.

What is the best way to expose the basic fraud in the democrat appeal?

Force them to choose between the liberal base and the broad coalition.

What is the best way to do that?

Help the Green Party win those "safe" liberal seats tucked away in the inner cities.

Usually, the Republican Party doesn't even run a candidate in these seats. Why not contribute to Green Party victories in those Gerrymandered Liberal State Representative, State Senate, and U.S. Congressional seats?

How can you do that?

Prevent the democrats from blocking Green Party ballot access. Relax restrictions on ballot access. Contribute money to Green Party campaigns. At every opportunity, attack the hypocrisy of Democrat candidates in comparison to Green candidates.

Don't let the Democrats get away with installing another Baraka tHUSAME Obama in a nice safe State Senate seat like the one in Hyde Park, Chicago. Make the would be "liberal" democrats fight the Green Party for those seats. Make them prove their liberal credentials so that they can't run away from their commitments as soon as they see lobby money waived in their faces.

This is way better than the K-Street project. The Green Party project would actually work.

Think of the effect on the Democrat Party.

Democrats would have to choose between, on the one hand, an honest and straightforward socialist approach, or, on the other hand, a weasel-worded, flim-flam, Obama type campaign of deception in which they promise everything and deliver nothing but image.

How can Republicans continue letting the Democrats finesse all the major issues of the day, without forcing them to commit to their best solution?

Exhibit A: immigration policy.

Exhibit B: trade policy and globalism

Exhibit C: income redistribution

Force the democrat liberals to choose.

You really want "Choice not an Echo," then start by forcing the liberals to choose. It'll make your job easier.

If Green members take the liberal seats in the State Houses and Congress, the Green Party can form a coalition with the Republican Party, just as happens with third parties in Canada, Europe and Israel.

Coalitions allow the parties to unite to accomplish specific goals. It's not true that there could never be a project on which Republicans and Greens could agree. Starting with the selection of a Speaker of the House (state or federal), the opportunity to form a coalition with the Green Party could offer significant advantages to Republicans over their Democrat rivals.

The beauty of a multi-party system is that each party passionately represents it's own constituency. As the constituencies expand, the influence of the party expands. Each party negotiates on behalf of its constituency for the best government possible. There is less ideological fraud.

The Republicans have been trying to run on ideology since 1964 - as if Republicans were in a multi-party system. Instead of a straight up debate, Republicans keep using wedge issues and sleezy (Atwater type) campaigns in order to win. This must be frustrating to those who want to have a full opportunity to work out a functioning philosophy of government. How can you do this if the Democrats can't be pinned down?

Force the democrats to stick with a message. Force them to represent their constituents.

Force the democrats to face the Green Party.

Force liberal democrats to chose between the Democrat Party and the Green Party.

Liberal democrats will either disappear; or, the Democrat Party will accept a fixed ideological position. Either way, is good for Republicans. And, coincidentally, it would be good for America.

Obama has never done anything for black people except be black and beat Hillary.  When McCain was voting to make MLK Jr. a federal holiday, Hussein Obama, according to his biography, was probably smoking crack. 

One of the great tragedies in American politics today is the incomprehensible devotion of blacks to the Democrats, the party that fought tooth and nail to keep them as slaves and later on to preserve their second-class status.  Democrat after Democrat are elected in black areas without regards to the devastating effect of such stubborness to the inner cities and the southern Black Belt, hence Detroit and DC. 

That's why this election is going to be about (Tancredo close your eyes) Latinos Latinos Latinos.  I don't want to rehash why this population is important, one should know that they are KEY to defeating the Left and its various permutations, but KEY to preserving conservative values.  McCain can destroy the fleeting appeal of Hussein Obama's disingenuous "change" rhetoric" by selecting the most senior Republican woman in the House - Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL).

She is the first Latina to be elected to the House.  Unlike the token woman chosen by Mondale for VP in 84, Geraldine Ferraro (you remember her, Hillary's mom), Ros-Lehtinen is the ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, i.e., she will be the Chairman of that committee if the GOP takes over the House.  Needless to say, she is the grand dame of everything Cuba-related. 

She is to the right of McCain in issues except one--gay rights.  She is a passionate supporter of gay rights.  Which is fine, it mirrors McCain's maverick persona. 

That's not all folks.  She also has Jewish lineage. 

One problem with all of this?  She was born in Havana, Cuba.

Blacks in the GOP

There are 199 Republicans in the House of Representatives. Not one of them is African-American. There are 49 Republican Senators. Every one of them is white. There are 22 Republican governors. None of them are black (though in fairness, there is only one elected black Democrat governor). The Republican party does not have even one black Congressman, Senator, or governor. African-Americans vote overwhelmingly Democrat, which explains some of the disparity, but that situation is intolerable.
 
Making this situation all the more incredible is the fact that so many of the conservative movement’s most influential thinkers are black. Thomas Sowell is arguably the most influential living conservative economist. If he isn’t, an argument could be made that Walter Williams is. Michael Steele is one of the most popular politicians among conservatives in the nation. Hoover Institute fellow Shelby Steele is very much admired among conservatives, Jesse Lee Peterson is very influential on race matters, and Deroy Murdock, Star Parker, and Armstrong Williams are all widely read conservative columnists. Larry Elder has a large talk radio audience. Black thinkers form a crucial segment of conservative thought.
 
Many liberals respond by saying that black conservatives are little better than Uncle Toms; that they simply repeat what their white masters tell them to say. But that is obviously wrong. Thomas Sowell’s word is law in conservative economics, Walter Williams is one of the most read columnists on the conservative website townhall.com, and Deroy Murdock is one of the most popular writers in National Review. Black conservatives don’t parrot conservative talking points—in many cases, they create the conservative talking points
 
And Republican leaders select many African-Americans as political appointees. The only current black Supreme Court justice is conservative Clarence Thomas. The first black Secretary of State was Colin Powell, and the second was Condoleezza Rice. The Republican party does not lack for blacks in appointee filled offices—only electoral ones.
 
If blacks are not held back by conservative racism, and are some of the conservative movement’s most influential scholars, why can’t they get elected as Republicans? There are at least three reasons.
 
The first reason lies in the fact that well over 75% of blacks vote Democrat. This limits the number of possible black Republican politicians—only a tiny fraction of people have the skills and the inclination to enter politics, and the fact that three quarters of the black population are staunch Democrats narrows the field still further. This means that there really aren’t many black Republican politicians to begin with.
 
Another reason for this disparity lies in the fact that most politicians are politicians first, and ideologues second. It is much easier for a young black politician to gain party support and funding if he is a liberal Democrat. In fact, being anything can hurt an aspiring black politician’s career—black Republicans are often taunted as “Uncle Toms”, pelted with Oreo cookies (get it? Black on the outside, white on the inside), and are sometimes referred to (in Condi Rice’s case) as “house n*ggas”. Being a black Republican politician is like crime—it doesn’t pay.
 
One of the reasons it doesn’t pay lies in the fact that the Republican party does not make much of an effort to find strong black candidates. While Ken Mehlman’s Republican National Committee made an effort to attract black candidates (many blacks ran as Republicans in 2006, although they ran mostly in long-shot races), many GOP strategists believe that such efforts never became an important part of the RNC. After Mehlman left the chairman post of the RNC, these efforts were mothballed.
 
The Republican party has few black politicians—and that is a pity, both for the GOP and the African-American race. The Republican party is missing out on some strong leaders whom would strengthen the party. The black community is losing an opportunity to lift itself out of the culture of government dependency in which so many blacks are enmeshed. (This is hardly a phenomenon unique to blacks—many, many whites are entangled in the same culture, as are many members of other races). The lack of black Republicans hurts both blacks and the GOP—and the Republican party should seek to change that. The black community has much in common with the conservative movement (many are religious social conservatives, and blacks form a large part of the military), and the Republican party should take advantage to this common ground.
