Gavin Newsom

Mea Culpa (Sort Of).

My article of Monday the 18th of October created a bit of a tempest. I’ve never had an article pulled on a Conservative site before. I’ve been tossed off of a couple of hard lefty sites, but that’s usually just funny.

I used to do a daily column on a really hard lefty site… I was astounded that they would publish my Conservative views. We were on there for about six months before someone on their editorial board came up for air long enough to realize that they were featuring a conservative op-ed every day, when they dropped us. We’ve been accidentally picked up by the Huffington Post once or twice too, that’s pretty hilarious.

The incident on Monday occurred on a site belonging to a writer and patriot I admire. One of his editorial staff took umbrage at my endorsement of a write-in candidate for Lieutenant Governor. Ok, I think I get the idea. We support and elect a liberal RINO Republican to keep from inviting Jerry Brown light into the state political arena, Gavin Newsom.

Fresh from destroying San Francisco, much the same way Jerry Brown destroyed Oakland as Mayor there, Newsom really wants to be Lieutenant Governor. He’d really love to have all those lovely Sacramento dollars to play with. There’s no situation out there that Newsom can’t make worse.

Yes, I agree. Newsom should never be allowed anywhere near Sacramento. But that doesn’t change a darn thing about what I think about Abel Maldonado. Meg had better be keeping a close eye on Mr. Maldonado should she be elected, as I feel confident she will be.

It doesn’t change a thing about the California or the National Republican Parties continually fostering candidates that may be able to garner a few marginal votes, but who turn against the party and against the people they are sworn to serve at the first opportunity. Gee, doesn’t that sound just like Abe? Let’s ask good ol’ Abe what his stand on illegal immigration is.

RINOs and other linguine-spined elitist Republicans are hell bent on taking charge of and co-opting the American Patriot Movement. These same establishment types are more trouble than they are worth. Today we have that political accommodation artist extraordinaire, Mitch McConnell, promising to find ways to co-operate with that monster in the White House. Hey, Mitch!! What is it you don’t get about the largest national movement that any of us has ever seen? We don’t want you to accommodate and make deals, period.

There are also, unfortunately, many not necessarily RINO Republicans who cave in to pressure by their peers on both sides of the aisles. These may be really nice folks, but they are not doing the job we sent them to do. We will remove them from office.

We do not wish to co-operate with Marxists or their surrogates. We intend to to defeat them and you, if you stand in the way of our saving this country and bringing it back under the Constitution. Be warned.

Coakley Concedes – Scott Brown The Victor In Huge Upset!!

BROWN 53%, COAKLEY 47%. This is not quite an earthshaking event but it’s darn close. There are DeMarxists changing their depends from coast to coast. Even in the belly of the western beast in San Francisco that paragon of ultra-liberal stupidity, Gavin Newsom, is babbling proclamations of DeMarxist 20/20 hindsight saying that Democrats had better do some close navel checks because the Democrat brand has lost touch with the common people. This from the Maoist clown who defied the will of 70% of the people of California, who said that NO, they did NOT want gay marriage in this state and that marriage was defined as being between a man and a woman.

Scott Brown Celebrates His Victory

I wrote yesterday that this election was a referendum on Barack Hussein and the MaoMarxist House of Clowns. Given the resounding margin of victory for Scott Brown it’s becoming obvious that as in 1775, Massachusetts is again the cradle of the revolution and the upset victory for Scott Brown is the SHOT HEARD AROUND THE WORLD. Don’t think our enemies aren’t listening. They can read the handwriting on the wall better than the DeMarxists themselves, who have completely blinded themselves to the rising flood of angry protest from the American people.

It’s going to be really interesting to watch the DeMarxist slimes and their pets in the lame stream press spin this one out. And dollars to doughnuts, coming out the back end they STILL won’t get it… all except the ‘moderate’ republicans and so-called ‘Blue Dog’ democrats who voted for the “health care” legislation that contributed so strongly to the Conservative Revolution that is now sweeping the nation. THEY get it. The ‘House Madam’ is going to play hell getting a lot of these people to repeat falling on their bayonets for the ‘Anointed One’, though a no vote at this juncture may be too late to redeem many in the eyes of their constituents.

The American people are not going to forget what the Democrats and the RINO Republicans have been complicit in doing to them. One thing is for sure if history is any guide, once the American people have been aroused to this degree the political bloodletting will continue past 2010 and resound clearly in the presidential race in 2012. We shall not be satisfied with less than a thorough housecleaning. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Online Video is done right by Gavin Newsom

I don’t really think that any of Newsom’s policies are good.

But I did think that his online video announcing his gubernatorial campaign was great.   Here’s why:

1-   It was Short

For the love of God please NEVER put a video on the Internet that is longer then five minutes.  The shorter the better.

2-   It was made specifically for the Internet

I have seen far to many candidates and politicians use their youtube channel for reposting entire news conferences, long-winded speeches and news clips. I am not objecting to this material being put up, but online video allows for so much creativity and yet I see so many campaigns just pushing what was already on TV, and what didn’t make it onto TV.

3-It was professionally produced

Did you notice the upbeat music that fit well with the theme?   The multiple shots?   The flowing story line?   The fact that Gavin speaking was shot specifically for this online video?  The fact that this video had quick edits and was always visually interesting?   The consistent text?  The good sound quality?

Notice how when you give an intern a $300 camera you got at Best Buy you don’t have any of these things?

If you want your video to be good, expect to spend a little bit of money on it.  It will still be a tiny fraction of Television CPM.

This video was a very simple announcement:

San Francisco is doing great under my leadership.

I’m running for governor.

I’m liberal.

Join the Campaign.

5-It spoke to a target audience.

Every time an online video is made there should be a specific target in mind: past donors, potential donors, gun owners, the media, young voters ect.

The target for this video was elite voters (voters that are informed and who’s political opinions are valued by their friends, family and neighbors) of the Democratic party, who will defiantly vote in the primary.

What did the video say to this very liberal group?

-I have little regard for the English language.

-Extremist government environmental policies create jobs.

-Government health care is wonderful and affordable because of me.

-Minorities like me.

-Government creates jobs that pay a “living wage”.

These are all things that the target audience wanted to hear.

6-It was used to in conjunction with the media.

The media talked about his video.  The story was about how he is cutting edge, and high tech.  As opposed to the story being about his problems: the failure of prop 8, his personal issues, ect.  He created the frame as opposed to letting the media frame him.

7-It was used in conjunction with the rest of his campaign.

The video promoted campaign stops he was going to be making up and down California.  And it asked people to “Join” his campaign (donate or volunteer).

8-It was used in conjunction with other Internet properties.

Gavin twittered the video (where he has over 421,000 followers), put it on his facebook (where he has 50,000 supporters), his website (which gets more then 7 times the traffic of all his gubernatorial competitors combined), and he put it on the Huffington Post (where he is a regular contributor).

Online video must work hand in hand with every e-platform you have at your disposable to ensure proper distribution.

9-Awesome subliminal messaging!

“Stop looking back and start looking for solutions.”

“We can’t afford to keep returning to the same old tired ideas and expect a different result.”

“We need new ideas and bold fresh innovative solutions.”

Jerry Brown is older then dirt.
