Gordon Brown

On A Wing And A Prayer.

Although it’s only relevant in the US, it seems appropriate that the UK general election is being held today, National Prayer Day. With the amount of prayers coming out of Britain today, I hope the Good Lord has a high bandwidth connection.

Gordon Brown

In Skip’s article from May 3rd, ‘Our Founding Documents… The Foundations Of Freedom’, he said that “Many, back in the days of King George the Third and the Revolution, didn’t believe that people could self govern, that instead the guidance of a firm but benign ruler was necessary as the common man simply could not be trusted to make life decisions for himself.” This attitude is still evident today in modern Britain. I have spoken to many who complain bitterly about high taxes, uncontrolled immigration and all the other usual gripes. They usually round off their little rant with a resigned “Well, there’s nothing we can do about it”.

Compare that attitude of many, or most, Brits to that of the American people over the last year. Do you think that if Obama totally lost it (anything is possible!) and introduced a 50% income tax level, increased fuel tax to push gasoline to $9 a gallon, and set up a state-owned broadcasting network which would cost you a $220 annual license (whether you watch it or not), that there would not be a few Tea Parties? Darn right there would be!

David Cameron

One oft-quoted comment of the British public is sadly true – “It doesn’t really matter, they are all about the same”. The whole spectrum of politics has shifted to the left. The difference between Labor’s Brown and the ‘Conservative’ Cameron is like the difference between Obama and Clinton. Would you believe that the latter has even incorporated ‘hope and change’ in an election slogan? It seems that the country has lost the first and slipped too far to do anything about the second. They are all more concerned with being pc than doing what must be done to rectify the sinking ship. What sort of an alternative is a Conservative government that upholds cap and tax and promises to plow more money into the ailing NHS?

Perhaps one day another Churchill or Thatcher will come along that has the cajones to do what is needed. Until then, Britain will remain as a stark reminder to the US of what not to do, what not to let happen. There is one good thing about the British electoral system – you never get dead liberals turning out to vote!

Terror Plot – Another Black Mark For Britain.

Yet again there is a connection between an attempted terrorist attack and Britain. Another ‘home grown’ would-be mass murderer whose plot fortunately went awry. There is precious little good news in the press these days and every item regarding the so-called ‘United’ Kingdom seems to be another nail in the coffin of a once proud, honorable nation.

After World War II Britain was lacking in manpower to rebuild a war-torn country, cities and seaports having been all but decimated by constant bombing raids and assaults by the dreaded nazi V rockets. Many of the male population had been killed or severely injured during the conflict, a factor that drove the government to import labor, principally from the British colonies, later called the Commonwealth.

1948 - The Start Of Large-Scale Immigration To Britain.

Most of these new ‘Britons’ assumed roles essential to the infrastructure of any developed country, transportation being one example. The newcomers were happy to be in a country which, although virtually bankrupt after years of turmoil and still enduring food rationing, was a pretty good place to be after the total poverty that many had known before. Aside from the usual verbal and sometimes physical attacks from a bigoted few, they now had a chance to advance and create a better life for themselves and their children.

So why, then, does it seem that fifty or so years later, a sizable number of immigrants, or their descendants, would like to destroy a culture that afforded them so many opportunities in the past? In a 2007 survey, the results of which were well covered by the media at the time, it was shown that one in eleven of all British-residing moslems agreed that suicide bombing was acceptable. Doesn’t sound a lot, but that equates to about 140,000 people. If it ever really hits the fan, that many ‘fifth columnists’ could do a lot of damage.

The Legendary British 'Bobby' Amid Scenes More Akin To The Third World.

It is hardly surprising that Britain is a magnet to this sort of person. While the government is constantly blathering on about equality for all minority groups and preaches tolerance toward those of other beliefs, those they seek to help are plotting their, and our, destruction. This ‘religion of peace’ is using its mosques to recruit Jihad activists and spread the word that anything that stands in their way, or does not conform to their sense of ‘morality’ must be eliminated.

While the British intelligence agencies and New Scotland Yard’s Anti-Terrorist Unit are doing their utmost to protect the public on both sides of the pond, the weakness of the government and questionable affinities for organizations like Hamas are counter-productive. The Prime Minister, ‘Flash’ Gordon Brown, seems more concerned about saving the world in fifty days from a mythical threat.

Unlike many countries, England still has an official ’state’ religion, Protestantism under the Church of England. Regardless of this, the formation of Sharia civil courts has been given approval in some cities. The Church does not have such a system, its members having to adhere to the laws of the realm, as is only right and proper.

With the inception of Islamic Sharia courts, the pro-Palestinian stance of the government, the unwillingness to prosecute those who verbally threaten its citizens and promote civil unrest, not to mention the immigration bans on Americans and Europeans who warn of the threat of Islamic fundamentalism – I wonder why Britain finds favor with Jihadists? As they used to say on radio quiz shows, answers on a postcard, please!

Hillary’s 100 Billion Largesse To Third World Dictatorships – Your Dollars!!

Isn’t it wonderful? Mrs Clinton spending money we DON’T HAVE now, the way she wished she could have spent it during her husband’s presidency. Gives you that warm glow, like a bonfire at the State Department. That fuzzy feeling that all liberals know and love, when their ‘well intended’ programs create HAVOC that they don’t have to pay for, solve, or be held responsible for because their INTENTIONS were good.

Hillary ClintonHillary Clinton

Hillary’s speech said it all. Billions of dollars to countries where the money is absolutely guaranteed to end up in the hands of whatever ruling junta of the day happens to be in control. Electrical turbine windmills and solar panels that magically transform into AK-47s, rocket-propelled grenades, mortars and hand grenades to perform the favorite third world version of birth control. It’s a vision any leftist will be proud of.

Meanwhile, back at the blizzard, things got hot around the campfire at the Copenhagen round up. The Anointed One’s less than inspirational envirobabble was payed at least as much attention to as one of his speeches around here lately, which is to say not much. A desperate and desperate appearing  Obama managed to cobble together a half-hearted, very sarcastically received, NON-BINDING agreement of sorts and skipped out of town before a vote could be taken, lest he be seen to preside over ANOTHER loss, then flew home to the largest Christmas blizzard in Washington for decades. Uh,  how’s that warming Barry?

Things in general just didn’t go well for the collection of losers that comprised the ZEALOTS BALL. Still trying to figure out what Nancy (Stretch) Pelosi was doing there, unless it was to convince the members there that they should contribute matching funds to her pork slush fund. Or maybe it was to give tutorials on slash and burn economics, something to which she can claim expertise. Then, Gordon Brown flying over there to use his vast intellectual vacuum to ‘create some movement’ in the Envirowacky process must have ‘em rollin’ in the aisles in Whitehall. Apparently, the major malfactors in this international CLOWN COLLEGE were so proud of their participation, many would not stay for the obligatory ROGUES GALLERY portrait to emblazen themselves into posterity. Shame that, would have made a great public hanging.

Back at the Senate, Ben Nelson (D) Neb. and Bob Casey (D) Penn. were at last report holding strong against the illegal and patently UNCONSTITUTIONAL machinations of Dingy Harry Reid, who is planning a Christmas Eve kamikaze vote on the Senate version of the bill. In desperation, DeMarxists could still opt to go the reconciliation route which would essentially gut the bill, albeit giving them a very tepid victory and almost guaranteeing lemming-like mass political suicide. Many members may think twice and even three times before throwing themselves off the cliff for an obsessed and unprincipled leadership, and a daily weakening and FAILING PRESIDENCY. If you want to follow how YOUR Congress critters are voting, so you can put the blame where it belongs, go to Sean Hannity.com.

Don’t slack up!! Keep going after them, even though many of the cowards have shut down their phone lines. Letters, emails, visits to local offices, telegrams, are ALL effective. Let them know WE WILL VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE. God bless you and God bless America!

Barack Obama offends our most loyal ally

By now I'm sure you have seen Barack Obama's shameless panderfest sneering at anyone in America who is exclusively English speaking....i.e. "You must learn Spanish and YOU WILL LIKE IT!"

http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=obama+learn+spanish&hl=en&sitesearch

Perhaps the Harvard law grad forgot that maybe a few people take pride in the English language....you know, even some people in EUROPE....like, the English!

This is from Prime Minister Gordon Brown's website http://www.number10.gov.uk/output/Page14289.asp

English - The World's language

17 January 2008

The Prime Minister has announced a boost to English language learning, teaching and training facilities for people throughout the world.

The English language, like football and other sports, began here and has spread to every corner of the globe. Today more than a billion people speak English. It is becoming the world's language: the language of the internet, of business, of international flight - the pathway of global communication and global access to knowledge. And it has become the vehicle for hundreds of millions of people of all countries to connect with each other, in countless ways. Indeed, English is much more than a language: it is a bridge across borders and cultures, a source of unity in a rapidly changing world.

English does not make us all the same - nor should it, for we honour who we distinctly are. But it makes it possible for us to speak to each other, to better understand each other. And so it is a powerful force not just for economics, business and trade, but for mutual respect and progress. I don't know how many times I've been told by people in every continent I have visited of the power of the English language to break down barriers to understanding.

For Britain, this is not a matter of narrow national pride. It is in part an accident of history - a wave of knowledge and commerce, which gathered even greater global force in the post-war era, that gave the world the English language.

And government after government around the world is recognising the role of English - ensuring it is taught at primary level as a core skill. In total, 2 billion people worldwide will be learning or teaching English by 2020. Today 350 million people speak English in India and another 300 million in China, with more children learning English in Chinese schools than in British schools. And in continents and countries where there are varied languages and dialects, often the people speak with each other in English - their shared language.

But there are millions of people in every continent who are still denied this chance to learn English - prevented from enjoying many of the benefits of the internet, commerce and culture. And I believe that no one - however poor, however distant - should be denied the opportunity that the English language provides. So I want Britain to make a new gift to the world - pledging to help and support anyone, whatever their circumstances, to have access to the tools they need to learn or to teach English. And my plan is that in the next 10 years at least 1 billion more people in the villages, towns and cities of every continent will have access to resources, materials and qualifications from the UK.

This week, during my visit to China and India, we will start to make our new commitment a reality. I want this to be a world wide endeavour of private and public sectors working together - with broadcasters, telecom companies, publishers, universities, colleges and schools playing their part in opening up English language opportunities to millions.

So let's get this one right. A left of center British politician endorses making English the world's language while Barack Obama thinks we ought to be embarrassed about our native tongue.

And who cares about the U.K., anyway,  since they have only been our most reliable ally over the past century and they are only the source of our original culture in this nation......we can find other people to suddenly like us, eh?

That's ok...maybe Obama doesn't think the U.K. is part of "Europe"  .......can we get Gordon Brown nominated for the Democrats... he's a more patriotic American than the guy that they are running!
