Hamas

Obama, Ardent Anti-Semite.

If there are any of my Israeli friends who have any vestige of belief that Barack Hussein Obama is harboring any good will at all toward Jews in general, or Israel in particular, Obama’s speech yesterday (if that’s what it could be called) should have ended any such illusions.

IDF soldiers guarding the border with Syria.

Obama’s servile pandering to the Islamic fundamentalists is leaving no doubt about where his true sympathies lie… it’s readily apparent here in the United States where there are Muslims embedded throughout his administration, Muslims infiltrating our educational and financial sectors, universally whining and decrying the ‘unjust’ treatment that they receive at our hands.

Obama just might be able to break the deathlike grip that the DeMarxists, and all things socialist, have had on the electoral habits of America’s Jewry. Obama’s attack on Israel… because that’s what it was… will most certainly draw the ire of the many American supporters of Israel… and that’s about 80% of the country. Hopefully, another nail in Obama’s political coffin. He’s been collecting a lot of those lately.

Stated plainly, Israel would have to be completely out of their collective minds and bent on sure and certain national suicide to agree to a single thing Barack Obama said. He’s not going to get any ‘peace process’ going now or ever. His goal is the goal of the Arab Brotherhood, Hamas and Hezbollah… that is to say, the ultimate destruction of the State of Israel.

Maybe it’s just my Marine instinct peeking through but to me, but the simultaneous incursion across three borders by Islamist ‘protesters’ looked a lot like a rehearsal. What was frankly disturbing was the somewhat fragmented and confused response of the IDF.

Hey guys, it’s like this… if the stuff goes down you may not get a second chance to react. Your enemy has been out in the hallway lifting weights and doing push-ups, while you’ve been playing pat-a-cake with Obama and the Hildebeast over how much defensible border to give away to people who want you dead.

Bulking Up – US Fuels Israeli War Machine.

And a thirsty one it is indeed, as they all are. The United States has sold Israel two billion dollars worth of military fuel stocks. That’s about 444 million gallons of JP-8, unleaded and diesel fuel.

Israel’s air force would use prodigious quantities of fuel in an all-out air assault against her enemies that could last for days. The tanks and mobile artillery won’t be slow consuming huge amounts of fuel either. This, right in the face of Barack Obama’s biggest push to neuter Israel, by promising a ‘nuclear shield’ to protect her from her enemies… if she promises not to attack Iran. Note to our Israeli friends: Barack Hussein’s promises are as empty as his economic policies.

It’s remarkable that the administration that has done everything in its power to prevent the Israelis from defending themselves against the real and present danger that is fundamentalist Iran, is the same one that is supplying the one strategic assurance Israel needed to prosecute a sustained military effort.

Israel’s quick and final solution to the Galant issue pretty much put a stop to the speculation that it was a red herring to distract the Arabs from Israeli war preparations. The US, Germany, France and UK air forces have been training, simulating operations over Iran.

Syria’s armed forces are at their highest alert status. Hamas continues to agitate and Hizballah concentrates forces in Lebanon. Israel must move soon. We should move with her.

Obama… My Friend Israel?

Barack Hussein Obama is suffering from whiplash. His whimsical, ugly, anti-semitic and totally illogical treatment of Israel has come to an abrupt end. All is well with the Anointed One. His 180° course change with Israel has not gone unnoticed by Israel’s enemies in the Holy Land.

Netanyahu and Obama

No more starving Israel of strategic re-supply in the event a real shoot-em-up does get started. No more withholding key munitions that Israel needs for offensive warfare. No more threatened or actual sanctions by our pro-Palestinian leftist State Department. At least for now.

Obama has been giving Israel a very rough time of it for as long as he’s been in office. His State Department has aligned itself with the leftist elements in the country to influence policy and weaken Israel’s resolve from within. The President had a vapidly phrased letter sent to a group of American Rabbis as an almost insulting gesture of apology for the icily hostile attitude exhibited by Obama’s Government over the last fourteen months.

So, to what do we have to credit Barack Hussein’s epiphany? Here are some possibilities. Barack has badly damaged relations with American Jewry. This has been a virtually unassailable bastion of loyal Democratic voters and prime recruiting territory for political activism. Barack’s open antagonism of Israel has opened a schism in that voting block and American Jews are moving away from the Democrat party, responding to the message of the Conservatives. His move has also been interpreted as a sop to the Jewish community.

Then there is the hard reality that Obama’s subservient toadying has netted him nothing but ridicule and disdain from his muslim brothers. He may not realize that by coddling Iran, hoping to bring them to the table, he has created a far more dangerous world in the last fourteen months, but at least some of his advisers do. The Administration has to be aware that there is a heck of a good chance that we will be smack in the middle of a regional conflict, with us and Israel on one side and Hamas, Hizballah, Lebanon and Iran sitting in the catbird seat behind its surrogates on the other.

Israel will be fighting for its very existence. Obama hasn’t changed his stripes one bit, but he has come to the conclusion that the rest of us have known for years… that Israel is the only game in town.

Enemy To Our Friends, Friend To Our Enemies.

Barack Hussein Obama’s latest perfidy, among many, is in threatening our South Korean allies about retaliation against North Korea, for what (now that the lies are clearing) looks like the torpedoing of a South Korean Naval vessel in South Korean waters by the North Koreans. Fifty eight out of a crew of one hundred and four were reported as having been rescued. There were no confirmed reports of missing and dead as of this writing.

The South Korean Naval Ship 'Cheonan'

Sources in Washington reported that Obama moved quickly to run interference for the North Koreans. The war with the North has never really ended for the South with the cessation of hostilities in 1953. The border between the two countries at the ‘demilitarized zone’ is heavily fortified and has seen many incidents of provocation and infiltration of agents from the north over the years. On May 27, 2009, North Korea once again declared that a state of war existed between the two countries.

Obama’s interference is developing into a disturbing pattern of using US influence to interfere in our allies internal defense policies, while pandering appeasement to ruthless dictatorships around the globe. Obama’s most recent shameful treatment of Israel’s Prime Minister should have been, and was, considered by Israel to be a mortal insult. Further, Obama ordered that a shipment of advanced J-DAM deep penetrating bunker-buster bombs be turned around at Diego Garcia.

The Obama administration, far from supporting Israel against Iran and her mortal enemies on the East Bank, Hizballah in Lebanon and Syria, is actually supporting them against our greatest ally in the middle-east. There’s no other way to look at it.

There was an incursion into Israeli territory by Hamas which took the lives of two Israeli IDF members, followed by an intense fire-fight. In addition, reports of Pakistani and Iraqi Al-Qaeda infiltrating through tunnels have introduced the Taliban tactic of attacking from motorcycles using rocket propelled grenades. Israel’s enemies are ginning up the ante, perhaps in a test of Israel’s resolve.

Though most of Congress and the country at large are strong supporters of the State of Israel, Obama, his administration and his State Department must be considered to be antithetical to the best interests of Israel, Korea, and our own country for that matter. It’s a sad and frightening circumstance when the supposed leader of the free world is behaving like anything but.

Feb 11… Iranian People May Sucker Punch Mullahs.

The ‘Grand Aya-told-ya-so’ has been muttering through his beard about how the WEST (read Israel and the US) is going to be ‘punched’ on Feb 11, 2010, the anniversary of the overthrow of the Shah of Iran and the advent of the most virulent Islamic fundamentalist regime in the world. The Ayatollahs, with the weak, inept Jimmy Carter at the helm of the United States, declared war and have been waging that war on us ever since, deftly utilizing their surrogates throughout the world, as they built their international terror networks with one end game in mind. The goal of that end game is nothing less than world-wide fundamentalist domination. The only substantial obstruction to the realization of that goal has been Israel and the United States of America.

Ahmadinejad addresses the crowd in Tehran.

The Ayatollahs are directly responsible for the deaths of many thousands of American and Israeli men, women and children over the last thirty years, as well as thousands in other countries around the globe. They have much to answer for. To us, to Israel, but most of all to their own people who have suffered immeasurably under the iron boot of brutal totalitarian oppression.

There have been stories of unrest coming out of Iran for years. The advent of computer technology, the internet and satellite communications have allowed clarification of the situation inside of Iran. With many thousands of Iranian refugees here in this country and around the free world a better picture of events in Iran is emerging. Recent stories and videos show a picture of practically universal resistance to the brutal Islamist regime. The stories we see and hear are only a small portion of the whole, as resistance has been brutally suppressed. The courage of the Iranian people striving for the freedoms we take so much for granted cannot be understated. They risk their lives on a daily basis to get news, pictures and videos out to the free world.

The Grand Ayatollah’s ‘punch’ against the west is to be a nationwide display of Islamic strength and unity, with hundreds of thousands of people imported into the capital to participate in a massive extravaganza. In an ironic note, huge and extensive public address sound systems have been installed throughout the city to drown out the voices of the protesters. When it was tested, instead of playing the anthem of the Islamic Republic, it played the anthem of the late Shah of Iran!

There are massive demonstrations emerging all over the nation that are sure to be brutally suppressed. If we had a President with even a tiny amount of  character and courage he would support this nascent revolution by a people who are, and would be, friendly to the United States and Israel. But our leader is NOT a man of conviction. He is not a man of character. Having come from a tradition of warriors, I have the distinct impression that he has no courage either.

In the meantime, the Israelis and the United States continue to build up forces in the gulf and off the shores of Iran. Israel has naval and special forces assets in the region. Israel faces a dicey proposition in facing off with Iran as it will almost certainly encounter the Syrians, the Lebanese Hezbollah, which all but runs the country, and the Palestinian Hamas. According to some reports Hezbollah has trained some 5000 men, who with Syrian help would sweep across the border to seize towns in Galilee. The Syrians have become increasingly belligerent in recent weeks. Additionally, Syria has reportedly supplied Hezbollah with the Fateh 110 mobile missile system which has a range of 250 miles and could hit targets anywhere in Israel. Israel has warned Syria that she considers it to be an act of war.

Between the massive unrest of its own people and what looks like eminent hostilities between Iran and Israel, the Ayatollahs may just get a whole lot more than they bargained for.

The US And Socialism: A View From The Inside.

While I’m away with family today, I’d like to introduce you to the lady who pulls all the levers and oils the bearings that make this thing work. Doing a daily column is a lot of work and my editor Dee is the one who gets it all done. Here is her guest editorial. Skip.

Living in Britain for a number of years has given me a perspective on current US events that relatively few can claim to possess. Readers of Drudge Report may be familiar with the frequent links to UK news items from quality newspapers such as the ‘Telegraph’ and ‘The Times’ (the latter, incidentally, was originally called ‘The Thunderer’ in its early days – what a wonderful name!), along with some from the ‘knee-jerk’ papers, often called ‘red-tops’ due to their colored header background. According to a recent survey, there has been a huge rise in the number of American online readers accessing and commenting on these British sites.

So why the increased interest in the affairs of Blighty from over the pond? Apart from the obvious connections of friends, family and expats, along with the sometimes strained ‘closest ally’ relationship, I believe there is something deeper – something that could help to save the US.

Socialism and communism (someone once said that “socialism is communism in a hurry”) are newcomers to the American political scene, at least at Congressional and, dare I say it, Presidential level. If you’re not familiar with something, there is a tendency to let it play out and see what happens first. The naïve (and usually younger) voter may be blinded by these Utopian sounding ideas. The more wary amongst us, often older with longer memories, will look further ahead and further afield to examine the effects of socialist policies. British newspapers are a great place to start.

The biggest impact on the individual is the removal of freedoms, many of which form the basis of the US Bill of Rights. Let’s look at the First Amendment to begin with. While it is ‘acceptable’ to criticize the Christian churches or Israel, any public criticism of Islam could find you charged with anything from racism to inciting hatred, amongst various other public disorder offenses. This is in a country that fought valiantly in the twentieth century against the national socialists for the rights of Jews and other minorities, the nazi doctrine sharing much in common with that of jihad.

It was this freedom of expression that managed to get Michael Savage and Geert Wilders banned from the UK. The UK government finally backed down in the case of the latter. Well, it’s pretty difficult to ban someone from an EU country when they have a ‘free movement’ passport. That is, of course, unless the person commits a crime. Wilders’ only crime was speaking his mind, thoughts which the Westminster socialists did not like.

Geert Wilders

This hypocrisy of the left channels down to education, where establishments have been instructed not to liaise with Israeli institutions. Is that any surprise when there are Members of Parliament who openly support terrorist organizations like Hamas? George Galloway was challenged on this point a couple of years ago by talk radio host Rusty Humphries. When the questions got too hot to handle, Galloway called security to remove Humphries from the building. That of course sums up the attitude of a left-wing government – they are NOT answerable to the people.

George Galloway

Of course, control of the media is an important factor to the left (watch out for the fairness doctrine coming down the pike!). The BBC, Auntie Beeb as she has been affectionately known in Britain, has become Nanny Beeb, the official organ of the nanny state. For decades, it was respected for factual coverage of news and current affairs. Its entertainment output was the envy of broadcasters worldwide, high quality period dramas being one of its hallmarks. While the quality of programing has deteriorated and its ‘factual’ programs become ever more left-leaning, the compulsory license fee (tax, basically) increases annually. For $227 a year, you can enjoy programs that espouse the dangers of global warming, the plight of Palestinians (but not the Israelis who were bombarded by their rockets), soap operas that make juvenile drunkenness and drug abuse look acceptable, not to mention children’s entertainment with not-so-hidden political messages.

I saw an episode of Doctor Who, produced by the BBC, on the SyFy channel recently. That’s not a misprint – they changed the name from Sci-Fi for copyright reasons! It involved the Doctor and his equally provincial-English speaking assistant (Oxford English is frowned upon these days, which is probably why people like Stuart Varney took their eloquence to the US) arriving millions of years in the future. When asked by his assistant how the Doctor knew that a building was a hospital, he replied “The green crescent, the universal symbol for a hospital”. Not a red cross, not a Star of David or the snake and staff, but a green crescent. This is only one example.

So what does the British taxpayer get for their hard-earned bucks? Those who decide to work, that is, rather than those who ‘play the system’ for welfare benefits, that can be financially better off than if they were employed. A police force that has no teeth, who might attend a 911 call “within an hour”, which is the standard control center reply. A police department that tells a supermarket manager (of my acquaintance) that their time was being wasted for attending a shoplifting incident. A system of law and order where a person can get incarcerated for a longer period for possessing a weapon in their home for personal defense, than a person who inflicts serious injuries on an innocent member of the public. Considering the fact that Britain is a ‘gun-free’ society, the rising number of shootings in public places is something to worry about. Proves the point that the bad guys will always get guns – leaving the innocent, law-abiding folks defenseless.

I guess it keeps the health service busy, what’s left of it. A gunshot wound would put someone at the front of the line, no mean feat when it can take three weeks to get a doctor’s appointment, a year to see a specialist for a serious shoulder injury (both of these are my personal experiences), eighteen months for cataract surgery, or years for hip surgery. I know a guy who hobbles around at work all day that has been waiting over two years for surgery. I have nothing but praise for the medical professionals that I have personally encountered. They are overworked, underpaid (especially when compared to their US counterparts) and sometimes even physically abused. But they are like the crew of a sinking ship – no matter how good their seafaring skills, if the hull is seriously flawed there is nothing on Earth that will stop it going down! Free health service? Hardly! More and more tax money is being pumped in every year, with nothing to show for it. You’ll see soon enough with Obamacare.

There you have it, folks. A little taste of what is to come in the Socialist States of America. Enjoy what freedoms you have left while you can. Of course it can be reversed, in the US at least. The disease has taken root in Britain and people get used to it, it is all the younger generation have ever known. It would take a major revolution to change British society now and quite frankly there seems to be no-one on the horizon up to the job. The last hope, in the form of the Conservative party, seem more interested in kowtowing to the voter than upholding beliefs – their support of global warming legislation is testimony to that. The name Daniel Hannan springs to mind, maybe there are more like him who put belief before popularity.

YOU, the American citizen, CAN stop this slide towards total government control. The longer you let it slide, the harder it is to pull back. It might sound melodramatic, but if America is lost, all is lost. Rekindle the spirit that said NO to Britain in 1776, but this time aim your protests at the Capitol. Start by sweeping clean Congress in 2010. The choice is simple. Follow the British example, where the people work for the government – or make the government work for the American people. Keep reading those Brit newspapers, it will give you the impetus to avoid making the same mistakes!

The Gaza Cease-Fire - Merely a "Lull"

The MSM, reporting from Gaza City is once again showing its bias against Israel. By reporting an Israeli reaction to an act of violence at the beginning of an article, the intent is to cast the IDF and Israel in the worst possible light. The roadside bomb which killed an Israeli soldier and wounded three others, mentioned initially in the second paragraph without explanation and then in the third paragraph where you finally see for the first time that the air strike, the lead idea in the report, was in response to an attack on an Israeli patrol.

The writer of the article then attempts to place a few doubts in the reader's mind as to the true nature of the exchange. First, the reader is told that Israel threatened responses to violations of the cease fire. This is written specifically to label one party "Israel" and not label the other party so that the accountability falls on Israel. Since withdrawing its troops, Israel has threatened to retaliate hard for any violations of the truce. Notice the way that a fact {Israel withdrew her military and will try to enforce the cease fire} is mangled into a statement breeding mistrust - a play on the sneaky Jew mythology. It seems to say, "those Israelis are just looking for an excuse to attack".

The reader then moves on to ...Gazans struggle to resume normal.... The reader is supposed to think, if only the Israelis would leave alone the peace loving arabians in Gaza, they would be able to re-build their homes and cities that were shattered by Israeli bombardment. No mention is made of Israeli cities trying to recover from bombings and shellings. Renewed warfare would return a wave of rockets into Israel.

After an attempt to rehabilitate Hamas as a reputable organization that would never think of confiscating money sent by donors to relieve the non-combatant population {never mind this was going on during the conflict} a minuscule attempt to remind the reader that Hamas is a terrorist organization with a wanted leader (Ismail Haniyeh) is easily overlooked given the drama of the article itself.

The writer's bias is on display as an attempt to sub-consciously remind the reader of the slant that Israel used "dis-proportionate" force is found in the next part of the report

After Tuesday's bomb blast, heavy gunfire was heard along the border in central Gaza and Israeli helicopters hovered in the air firing machine gun bursts, Palestinian witnesses said. An Israeli jet set off a loud sonic boom over Gaza City not long afterward, possibly as a warning.

For one measly little road side bomb, an IED after all, the IDF responds with overwhelming force and executes collective punishment. Oh, those evil Jews.

Its one thing to write the normally biased report and to write badly. Its another to report half facts and to ignore facts.

In the days immediately following the cease-fire there was shelling by Israeli gunboats and some gunfire along the border — including the killing of two men Palestinian officials identified as farmers — but there were no serious clashes until Tuesday.

Somehow forgotten was Hamas rocket attacks against Israel http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,480445,00.html after the cease fire. See also http://israelmatzav.blogspot.com/2009/01/video-hamas-rocket-launcher-between-two.html  Israel Matzav report and video.

Moving right along the reporter makes no effort to tell the reader that he is about to quote a major arabian death cultist. We are just supposed to assume he is another member of the respected and beloved religion of peace:

Although there was no claim of responsibility, Mushir al-Masri, a Hamas leader, said Israel was to blame for continuing to fire into Gaza. Al-Masri said his group had not agreed to a full cease-fire but only to a "lull" in fighting."The Zionists are responsible for any aggression," he said.

Masri believes the cease-fire is a hudna. Hamas just needs some time to catch its breath, reload, rearm and rest a little while the international world gleefully rests on it laurels of once again interfering with the Israeli right of self-defense.

Masri is merely labeled "a Hamas leader" in the McPaper article. In http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/019182.php  a December 2007 article he is quoted as reported by JihadWatch as speaking to a Hamas rally,

In another speech to the rally, senior Hamas official Mushir al-Masri warned Israel to expect many casualties if troops invade the coastal territory in an attempt to stop almost daily rocket firing by militants into Israel.

"Jews, go back, because we have already dug graves for you," Masri said. Israel carries out regular raids on Gaza and has killed dozens of militants in the past month.

Finally, we have the summary paragraph:

Israel wants an end to Hamas rocket attacks and guarantees that Hamas will be prevented from smuggling weapons into Gaza from Egypt. Hamas has demanded that Israel and Egypt reopen Gaza's border crossings, which have been largely closed since Hamas took power. The crossings are Gaza's economic lifeline.

See the problem? Hamas, the terrorist organization with stated goals to kill Jews and destroy Israel has had it's border crossings legitimately shut off by Israel(not necessarily so successfully). <i>The crossings are Gaza's economic lifeline</i>. Since when has Hamas attempted to build any economic system? The first thing that happened when Israel withdrew from Gaza was the destruction of the business infrastructure that existed. Yet, this "factoid" in the article remains unquestioned. Worse, this false statement is meant to be the fulcrum's center point against Israel's demand that cities inside Israel should be free of random rocket and mortar fire. The writer is attempting to equate denial of weapons to terrorists with the use of those same weapons against civilian populations. In the mind of the antiJew, the Jews are just as guilty as their harassers - moral equivalency must reign. Both sides must come to terms.

The Moral Insanity of Modern Life

In France, they're bombing synogogues.

Meanwhile, the threats mount in the country of Hitler.

In our own country, one of our own citizens urges Jews to 'Go Back to the Oven':

But as the protest continued and crowds grew, one woman in a hijab began to shout curses and slurs that shocked Jewish activists in the city, which has a sizable Jewish population.

"Go back to the oven," she shouted, calling for the counter-protesters to die in the manner that the Nazis used to exterminate Jews during the Holocaust.

"You need a big oven, that's what you need," she yelled.

...

The protest organizers, asked to comment on the woman's overt call for Jewish extermination, said she was "insensitive" but refused to condemn her statement.

Against this background, the always erudite Victor Davis Hanson observes:

If Israel thought the world would at least in this round distinguish the creepy and murderous Hamas from the PA, which worked hard to obtain the veneer of legitimate governance, it was somewhat mistaken. PA or Hamas, the world seems to care little — they are both purported victims of Jewish aggression and that is all ye need to know.

As a descendant of Holocaust survivors, I cannot tell you how much this scares me.  I tend to take those who preach western decline with a grain of salt.  That said, events of the past few weeks leave me flabbergasted.  When a civilized democracy confronts vile terrorists the underlying morality should be a no brainer.  Instead, our Secretary of State capitulates.
