layoffs

Angry Electorate.

California has a budget deficit of over twenty billion dollars. We lay off police and firefighters instead of the useless politicians, bureaucrats and administrative types that have created, and now work hard to perpetuate, disaster. It’s Bell, California on a statewide and national scale.

Angry residents of Bell, California

I cannot adequately describe the utter contempt with which I hold the people who were responsible for, and contributed to, the economic chaos we’ve been living in for over two years now. Americans have a strong sense of fairness which has been outraged by the blatant excesses of the DeMarxist left. I’ve watched this whole thing simmering since the presidential campaign. There was much discontent amongst the electorate back then. Conservatives were outraged at the behavior of the Republicans who were exactly like Democrats on steroids.

The left, of course, is angry all the time anyway… it’s in their contract. It’s the only way they can operate. The left is always miserable, so they want you to be miserable too. It’s hard to believe that Barack Hussein Obama and his Marxist intellectuals have been exactly wrong on every single thing they’ve done since Obama took office. So completely that it presents a different possibility. That conclusion would have to be that it is all being done on purpose, according to a plan. Either way, after all the hoopla and spin they’ve been pumping out, virtually around the clock, they could have saved their money and their breath because America has seen the naked power grab of the left for exactly what it is, and we’ve said “Oh hell no!”

This country is very close to open revolt. Not the tar and feathers variety, but close. Americans believe in the rule of law. We also see the blatant assaults on the fundamental principles of our Republic, under the color of authority. When we see our enemy trying to build a mosque at the site of their slaughter of three thousand Americans, our collective blood starts to boil.

Take some of that anger and channel it to helping out in your local patriot group or Republican party group in your area. Volunteer to be a poll worker. Eighty four days.

Jobs Are Bustin’ Out All Over – Obama Said So.

The latest unemployment figures give the big lie to the DeMarxists’ oft repeated claims to job creation. People are getting very weary of the constant drumbeat of propagandized lies coming out of the administration. What is obvious is that the pace of job layoffs has not slowed. The government’s efforts at double and triple book-keeping, to make temporary census jobs look like a huge boost in employment, is typical of how Obama’s operation works. Real job growth has not gone anywhere but down. Obama’s punishing policies toward private business will not abate until we defeat the DeMarxists in November.

The government has grown itself by 400,000, while at the same time a worse than anemic 41,000 jobs were created in the private sector. Any rational economist, heck, anyone who stayed awake through high school economics would look at those two figures and see what an immense disconnect they really represent. 400,000/41,000. It looks for all the world like something we would have seen reported out of the old Soviet Union, not the United States of America.

After TARP… after the 800 billion stimulus… after Cash for Clunkers, which ended up costing taxpayers around $24,000 per vehicle turned in… after all of the other loser ‘programs’ with huge amounts of unaccountable money being diverted to interest groups and political cronies. Don’t they call that fraud?. I guess it doesn’t count if you’re a DeMarxist ‘friend of Obama’.

After all this, another 475,000 jobs have been lost so far this year. The home construction industry took another hit, after the artificially inflated figures supplied by the tax credit which was offered to home buyers expired with the program and those home sales cleared the books.

There are no jobs out there in a lot of fields. I know one guy in particular, who is well qualified in his field with an excellent resume. He’s sent out over four hundred resumes without a single job offer. There are some 900,000 people whose unemployment benefits will run out unless Congress gets its act together. These people want jobs, not unemployment, but right now it’s all they’ve got.

Analysts are beginning to talk about a double-dip recession, a grim prospect for a citizenry that’s been battered by two plus years of economic chaos. The farther we get towards November the more transparent Obama’s schemes become. I have a sense that Americans are waiting with bated breath… when the time comes to go to the polls in November, there is going to be a historic sea change. The American people will lead in taking back our country from the Marxists. We will then turn our thoughts to a one-term Obama.

Red Alert! Patriots Flood The Capital. Despite MSM Press, They Don’t Have The Votes.

There are tens of thousands of American citizens vectoring in on the Capitol for a rally Saturday, followed by visits to the Congress cretins' lairs where presumably no too few Representatives and Senators will be cowering in their inner offices, or perhaps the gym shower?

Citizens are asking some very pointed questions. The country is aroused as never before, as the leftist Congress lock steps its way to a precipice from which it cannot return at the behest of their Marxist ideologue.

President Obama, fresh from having his clock cleaned by Fox News’ Bret Baier, went straight to George Mason University where he continued his rant against the insurance companies in front of another picked audience.

Meanwhile on the hill, the atmosphere is reaching fever pitch with claims and counter claims flying through the statist press.

John Boehner

House Republican Leader John Boehner mailed a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi, requesting that ‘every member stand in front of the American people and explain their vote in a roll call vote per House of Representatives rule XX, clause 2 and 3.'

Putting the lie to Obama stating that the stimulus and jobs bills will enable corporations to re-hire laid off employees, Caterpillar Corporation announced more layoffs and laid off 22,000 people last month. Caterpillar CEO Jim Owens said there will be more layoffs before there would be any hiring. Owens said the pending health care legislation would increase his health care costs by over 100 million dollars the first year alone.

Tom Coburn

Senator Tom Coburn had a stark promise for Democrats who sold their votes for promises of federal appointments or jobs if they vote yes and are bounced out of office by their constituents. He warned that their appointments would have to come in front of the Senate and that ‘they would have to explain their votes to the American people’. “They would certainly be held” he said, referring to any jobs or appointments.

Budget expert James Capretta stated that the CBO analysis gives a false 10 year projection over the first full 10 years of implementation. The real cost of the new entitlement spending would reach 2.5 trillion dollars. This figure agrees with analysis from other sources.

Keep up the calls, emails, faxes and visits… the Capitol has been receiving 500,000 calls per day… this says nothing about hundreds of thousands of emails and faxes.

Keep up the great work! HOO-RAH!

Linda McMahon's "Trick or Treat" on CT workers and taxpayers

It's Mischief Night tonight, and I hear the "Wild RINO". Linda McMahon has picked out her Halloween costume for tomorrow evening.

Mask - Reagan

(Try not to scare Rahm Emanuel!, Linda)

One thing that Ms. McMahon is eager to portray is being the self-reliant hardscrabble businesswoman who rose to billions solely through single minded hard work and perseverance.

And just like the sport: Wrestling's fake. And so is the WWE's true committment to free enterprise.

That is, unless your definition of "free enterprise" includes sinking one's snout deep, deep into the public trough guzzling corporate welfare.

From the Journal-Inquirer.

A top aide to Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Linda E. McMahon today defended her company’s acceptance of millions of dollars in state tax credits, as both Republican and Democratic opponents pilloried her for what they called McMahon’s “stimulus package” and “taxpayer-funded bailout.”The attacks by former 2nd District Congressman Robert R. Simmons, the leading Republican seeking to unseat U.S. Sen. Christopher J. Dodd, and by a Dodd surrogate, state Democratic Party spokeswoman Colleen Flanagan, came after the state subsidies to World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. were reported Thursday by the Journal Inquirer.

The newspaper cited state records that show WWE has collected nearly $3 million in digital and media tax credits, most of which were issued just eight weeks before McMahon resigned her position as its chief executive officer to run for office.

Yep, Linda McMahon's immensely profitable wrestling empire gets subsidized by the Connecticut taxpayer, who are watching the income tax raised on the top bracket, public services reduced, and the state try and borrow its way through the recession. Indeed, unionized state employees even agreed to concessions, which is more than can be said about the state's would-be entertainment titans.

The apologists for the state's highly subsidized entertainment industry accuse McMahon critics of "jumping the shark" .  You see, it was other politicians who wrote these lucrative credits into the law.

Sorry, none of them are spending millions denouncing bailouts when they run a profitable corporation that takes them themselves.  It's "Happy Days" alright for the McMahon family, but the average CT taxpayers feels like they are in remake of "Jaws"

jaws

So the news media has concluded that Ms. McMahon, whose family controls the vast percentage of the WWE's stock, converted tax credits from the state into funds available for her campaign. Maybe this is a form of "public campaign finance"

But it gets worse.

Despite the fact that the WWE was very profitable notwithstanding the recession, shortly before she left her CEO post  at the WWE Linda McMahon went on a frenzy of layoffs and cost-cutting intended to raise profit margins.

Jan. 9, 2009, 9:38 a.m. ESTMcMahon & Co. has announced that it is cutting 10% of its staff, which should result in annual cost savings of approximately $8 million. In exchange for that, the company will take a one-time charge of $3 million. WWE also noted that the company has completed an evaluation of its operating and capital expenditures and has identified "additional efficiencies." In short, more cost cuts are on the way. The company's ultimate goal is to trim $20 million from its expense structure in 2009.

I'm the last person to lambaste a business that cuts costs to stave off competition, or to stockpile cash, or to pay off lenders and creditors.  And we are going to see a lot of very necessary cuts like that in Corporate America. But the WWE is essentially a monopoly in pro wrestling, they have consistently earned a profit and have $200 million in cash with virtually no long term debt..     So why the urgency to cut costs?  Well, as I noted the McMahon family owns 70% of the WWE  Let's apply 70% of the $20 million in cut costs; well that means $14 million inures to the McMahon family..

So,does the Wild RINO gets to finance most of her U.S. Senate campaign with "new money" without having to dip into the family fortune? Sure looks it.

... _&_Linda_McMahon_WWE.jpg

McMahon's campaign has run a TV ad telling folks how tough it was for her and Vince starting out, even having to declare bankruptcy and losing their house starting their business.

Hey Linda, like that's special. Please.

What really sickens me is it appears she is paying for this ad using the extra profits she earned after firing over 60 Connecticut employees.

How many of those 60 WWE's employees are going to lose their house so their old boss can finance her U.S. Senate bid without dipping into the accumulated family fortune? ... office with many empty desks In 2006 Joe Lieberman eviscerated the campaign of Ned Lamont after running this ad.

It's tough wearing a costume as a free market Republican and expecting people to believe you; Linda.

Especially when you destroy jobs, not create them . And collect subsidies. Not cut them.

We're onto the trick, Linda. You already got the treat.
