ONLY IN NEW YORK CITY

ONLY IN NEW YORK CITY.

http://mrltavern.podomatic.com

People, I live about 45 minutes from mid-town Manhattan. It's just a Metro North train ride away. I used to work in the city and would commute there on a daily basis. Before that I would always commute there to see two of my old friends who lived there. Now, one old friend is gone to California and the other has moved 1 hour and 10 minutes north.

I have no other reason to go to Manhattan ever again and couldn't be farther from it, especially around this time. Watch the whole video if you haven't already and you'll hear what I'm saying.

Only in New York City. But this is not the real New York.

I've often said, whether on my show or in blogs that. only in a SICK place like Manhattan, you could be a convicted rapist, an illegal immigrant who drove drunk and wiped out an entire family of six or even a pedophile, once you tell a tolerant liberal that you're a Republican/conservative you will then find out how INTOLERANT ILL-liberal liberals can be.

The people in this video are the same kind of people who allowed a Muslim anti-American rally in 2006, where they burned flags and chanted "Death To America" right on the same city streets.

Did we hear any jeers or boos in that video? Nooooooooo!

Only in New York City.

Don't get me wrong. I love the city. I love the beauty of it. I love the energy of it. I love Central Park, Bryant Park, the museums, the comedy clubs, the food, the Empire State Building, Brooklyn Bridge and Times Square. I love BBQ ribs at Brother Jimmy's and cheese burgers at PJ Clarke's. Trust me, there's a lot to love.

But I can't stand the people. Especially the ones who are in this video. This is not the real New York. This is not the New York where I come from.

These losers, who call themselves the intellectual elite (although you might think differently with the intelligent middle fingers that are counted in this video), DO NOT represent me as a New Yorker. These are people who elected Mayor Dinkins out of white guilt/black pride.  Dinkins, in just four short years, drove the city further into the gutter.  Then, the same ILL-liberals secretly cheered when their one bedroom condo dollar values soared under a Giuliani administration. They're the same disgusting, despicable, liberals who would call you a racist if you told them you wouldn't vote for Barack Insane Obama.

Meanwhile, these intolerant, ill-liberals remain idle and silent when faced with sexism regarding Sarah Palin. You know, it's racist that a woman at a McCain rally would call Obama an Arab (although it's still up in the air whether or not that woman was an Obama plant to set McCain off) but it's IS alright when a group of degenerates want to sport "Palin's a cunt" t-shirts at Obama's rallies. And what about the comments from Obama himself, who claims McCain is "out of touch" and "can't use a computer" implying that he's old?

I ask you intolerant, ill-liberal liberals, is John McCain a victim of AGEISM? Or is that ISM above your pay-grade???

I'll say this again, the fact that McCain can't use a computer because his shoulders were broken by the Vietcong is a plus. Because it will be one less politician in Washington who won't be on Craigslist looking for whores.

Only in New York City.

Not my city. Not the New York that I know.

Barack Obama: The RNC's Most Effective Fundraiser

The RNC has tried lots of things to get me to give a donation. I've always preferred to give to individual candidates and have been ticked off by the one of some of the frantic dispatches. I never thought I would give to the RNC (though I have supported the Idaho Republican Party). But Barack Obama has proven a far better fundraiser than anyone who writes ominous mail pieces at the RNC:

“You know, you can put lipstick on a pig,” Obama said, “but it’s still a pig.”

I guess this attack on Governor Palin is part of the post-partisan Obama era. Hope, Change, Light Bearer, all that jazz.

Good job, Senator. $10 is on its way to the RNC right now and I hope they kick your rear end back to Chicago.

No putting lipstick on Obama's blunder

Barack Obama blundered today. In Lebanon, VA, he said:

"You know, you can put lipstick on a pig," Obama said, "but it's still a pig."

Jake Tapper and the crowd got the reference:

The crowd rose and applauded, some of them no doubt thinking he may have been alluding to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's ad lib during her vice presidential nomination acceptance speech last week, "What's the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull? Lipstick."

Obama made a sexualized attack on Palin, comparing her to a pig. This is exactlty the same sort of thing that he did in the primary. Earlier in the cycle I noted:

Jake Tapper first noted this when Obama said that Hillary was "taking out the claws." At the same time he noted that Obama would use "[l]anguage such as 'when she's feeling down' 'periodically' she 'launches attacks.'" Tapper noted that a number of female reporters and bloggers picked up on this. Later Obama complained that Hillary was "throwing the China" at him. Again, Tapper heard the dog whistle. Tapper noted that this "feeds into the 'harridan' caricature of Clinton."

This is the stuff that alienated Hillary Clinton voters.

No wonder white women are swinging to McCain-Palin. If he keeps this up, it will be a landslide. Democrats do not know how to run against women.

On Sexism. Censorship, Free Speech and Politics: Jon Stewart's Porcine Humor

I'm all for free speech, but I'm also for family values.  Expressing free speech that's controversial on subscription adult cable, at a private club, on subscription radio, basically anywhere that isn't readily available to the children of its target, for example, is fine with me.  Last I heard, Comedy Central was available to anyone who has a platform of cable channels.

Apparently Andrew Sullivan thinks this is a riot - the beginning of a "rich late-night comedy political season". I wish I thought so, too. I used to enjoy Stewart and Colbert, and did not think of Stewart as a partisan pig prior to now. Let's watch along with Sullivan, Stewart and "Samantha Bee" as they coin a new phrase in relation to the Palin as McCain's Vice Presidential nominee: Proud Vagina-American. I'd love to see what the Obama campaign's reaction would have been to Comedy Central referring to him as a Proud Penile-American

The One Hispanic Vote McCain Doesn't Need - Perez Hilton's

As many Republican office bosses can probably attest, their underlings are spending too much time checking celebrity gossip websites, the most popular of which is Perezhilton.com.  Perez Hilton is the nom de célébrité pute of Cuban American Mario Lavandeira.  A visit to his site will make you start dropping modern feminist terms like 'misogynist' at levels once reserved only for Gloria Steinem.  His sexism is brazen as his targets are mostly women.  The words "bitches", "whores", and "skanks" are emblazoned over the pictures of female celebrities with abandon with no hint of irony.  Catherine Zeta-Jones got the "twat" treatment as recently as Wednesday:

The excessive sexism even has the feminist blog, jezebel.com, devote a regular feature documenting Mario's in-your-face woman-hating.

Huffington Post has begun to recognize (and I do too) that Perezhilton.com may have some pull in our politics.  His wall-to-wall coverage of celebrity news (some of which he breaks) ranks up there with Drudgereport in providing for water-cooler conversations.  Day-by-day, Mario attacks McCain and other GOP politicians on gay issues (Mario's gay).

However, as Huffpo's Kelli Goff pointed out, gay rights aren't even that popular on Perez Hilton's site as his latest attack on McCain generated 700 comments, and from the looks of it, a surprisingly large number were against the blogger.

His website may be popular, but his pull with his audience is tenuous.  He supported the failing bid of Hillary Clinton and was there to fan the Rev. Wright flames to no affect on his readership.  Positive posts on Obama are always swamped with anti-Obama comments.

One of his problems may be is that celebrity gossip is a downmarket, uh, market.  You know, red state kind of a thing.  Basically, Mario's choir is deaf to his existence as a purveyor of such gossip and because he is a gossip-monger, his more 'serious' opinions are sidelined.
