Obama's Iraq policy shifts are telling.
Mike Allen reported in the Politico today that Barack Obama may be changing positions on yet another issue; Iraq. Nonetheless, what is telling about this revelation isn't Obama's lack of honesty, but rather an acknowledgement from his campaign that Iraq may not be the disaster many Democrats claim it to be.
Of course, the Obama spin machine, as quoted in the article, is claiming that Obama has maintained a consistent position on Iraq. As usual, the facts say otherwise. In more than one debate during the primary season, Obama pledged to begin withdrawing from Iraq "from day one".
Now that Obama may be coming around on Iraq, or is doing so for the time being, the question should be asked whether or not the antiwar Left will stand behind a candidate whose campaign seemingly now advocates a position on Iraq not far off from that of John McCain.

Perhaps this ought to be the Obama campaign song?

Swing it, Baby!
Ah, yes, once I finally escaped from the 60's I remember when all Chicago meant to me was SCTV, the Saturday Night Live kids, The Blue Brothers, the band Chicago, and William "The Refrigerator" Perry. Great tune, Ironman, and so apt.
I suppose we should be grateful for small things in regard to Obama's flipping and flopping toward the Center. It completely vexes and agitates his base, causing them pesky "distractions from the real issues". If the worst case scenario comes to pass and the man actually does win this election, either the media will finally start reporting actual news about Iraq and every other issue associated with his policies and we will find ourselves in a journalistic renaissance, or the media will expose themselves to have gone so far to the Left that that they will accuse Barack Obama of very ironically serving George Bush's 3rd term. But then David Axelrod has a secret weapon: he can simply accuse the press of racism.
Meanwhile, like the stealthy USS Wahoo stalking a 13,000 ton Democratic convoy, we will be working quietly on torpedoing them in 2010 and 2012 with our conservative farm team.
