Palin 2012 or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love Sarah Palin

If the price of SNL whacking Obama like this:

...are hit jobs on Palin like this...

...then I like our chances for 2010 and 2012.

The 2010 elections are going to be a referendum on the Obama presidency, not Sarah Palin's book tour. As far as 2012 goes: I've always loved Sarah Palin and still do. I hope she rakes in millions of dollars with her book sales and speaking fees. But she has never won a single vote in any GOP primary and, if Mike Huckabee runs, she probably never will.

I'm sure she'll show up at a ton of the 2012 cattle calls, but that does convince me she is in it to win it. Instead she'll be a constant lightning rod ... cat nip for the Palin-haters at The Atlantic and MSNBC. So if beating up on Sarah allows the Jon Stewart's and SNL's to take some honest shots on Obama every once in a while, then I hope Palinmania never dies.

The delusions of some in the right...

I can't stop admiring what wishful thinking does to the hopeless in the GOP leadership.

The 2010 elections are going to be a referendum

The 2010 elections are going to be a referendum on the Obama presidency,

Well, if that is so, I'd be worried if I were you, given that he still has the support of the people who gave him 9 million more votes than the Republican candidate in 2008.

Politics is all about the match up and the Republicans are bringing nothing to the table. No ideas, no policies, just bile and obstructionism.

The right's "plan" for fixing our problems is so great that Sarah Palin QUIT HER JOB rather than attempt to actually implement it and demonstrate the results.

I challenge you to find a Republican who has higher poll numbers than Obama.

Between now and election day HCR reform will get passed, the economy will improve a bit, KSM will not vaporize Manhattan with his superhuman terror powers, and you will see new deficit-reduction initiatives which prove that the Democrats are the party of fiscal responsibility. All of which are going to boost Obama and the Dems in the polls.

At this point your thoughts remind me very much of what we heard from the Hillary Clinton campaign almost exactly 2 years ago. Right before they started experiencing all those puzzling losses.

When Obama starts actually campaigning, what are you going to do in response? You've already dialed it up to 11, where else can you go?

Well, if that is so, I'd be worried if I were you, given that he still has the support of the people who gave him 9 million more votes than the Republican candidate in 2008.

He does? Really? How does he go from a 64% approval rating to 49% and still falling, and still have the support of ALL of the people who voted for him?

http://www.gallup.com/poll/113980/Gallup-Daily-Obama-Job-Approval.aspx

And here is an interesting one from Gallup as well:

http://www.gallup.com/poll/124226/Republicans-Edge-Ahead-Democrats-2010-Vote.aspx

No one knows what HCR will look like if and when its passed. If there is no public option, the hard left will continue to turn on Obama. The costs are totally out of control and the backlash is continuing to build.

The economy will improve a bit? Good God, I hope so! However, people without jobs tend to be angry voters, and the window for getting the job situation turned around in the next year is closing. The stimulus bill didn't work, and Obama's own people aren't buying the phony numbers of "jobs created or saved" that are being manufactured by the administration.

Holding the KSM trial in New York is not about security, its about optics. Something of which the Obama adminstration has no comprehention. He and Holder have missed big on this one, and that reality will be apparent to them soon, although too late to keep it from further damaging Obama's image as weak and dithering.

"Hope" and "Change" ? You betcha!

Um, cause he won the election

with 52.9% of the vote?

And you really think that he

And you really think that he can see his approval numbers drop by 25% and retain every vote he got last November? Really?

You really think someone who voted for Obama

is going to pull the lever in favor of Palin/Beck, or Huckabee/Dobbs?

Wishful thinking on your

Wishful thinking on your part.

But then again, your list of how Obama is going to suddenly be a spectacular success over the nex year is too.

You Hopey Changers crack me up!

Good use of fact-based

reasoning to back up your argument there.

Lets hear the sales pitch that convinces someone who voted for Obama that Sarah Palin would be a better choice.

The Obama regret factor

What a difference a year makes. Obama's ratings are now well below where they were a year ago. Millions of Americans who go suckered in by Obama's campaign now regret them signing off on the taxes, regulation, out of control spending, and mindless sappy anti-terrorism policies of Obama and crew. They will vote out the Democrat clowns in COngress and the Dem clowns will deserve it.

The healthcare bill is a $6.4 TRILLION stinker that will destroy our future and our prosperity.

http://www.cato-at-liberty.org/2009/11/27/obamacares-cost-could-top-6-tr...

Meanwhile, global warming has been exposed as a scam ... the 'stimulus' has been a failure that saddled us with a trillion more in debt ... their Health care bill will tax us, take away our healthcare choices and kill jobs ... with Double-digit unemployment - The Democrat party doing the bidding of special interests and not the people,  the people are getting screwed by the Democrats and Nov 2010 is when they pay it back.

If the stimulus bill didn't work

what made GDP go up last quarter, and why is even the WSJ writing articles about how the stimulus bill worked?

Ummmm . . .

You do know that unemployment is at 10.2%, correct?

And you do know that Obama said that if the stimulus bill passed, unemployment wouldn't go above 9%?

And you do know that Obama is holding a "Jobs Summit" next week?

So if the stimulus worked, where are the jobs and why is Obama holding a jobs summit next week?

The Q3 GDP has been revised downward.

Unemployment is not the the only measure of whether or not

the stimulus bill worked. You pretend that it is only becasue you need a ruse to avoid acknowledging that in terms of arresting the decline in the economy initiated by the Bush Administration, it has worked.

Note I say "arresting", not curing - it is going to take a long time to fix the damage that was done.

Which is why Obama is holding a Jobs Summit next week - he is interested in finding solutions to the problems that we face.

Contrast that with the previous administration.

And yes, 3Q GDP has been revised downard - but it is still a positive number, and that is the point.

Here's a little secret . .

Here's a little secret . . .people who are unemployed don't give a rats petoot about the Bush administration.

So telling someone who is still unemployed -after a huge stimulus package has been squandered by Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi- that they should look at the last administration won't win a lot of votes. But you'll witness that next November.

Here's a little fact.

You can tell the unemployed that it is all Barack Obama's fault but they are still going to remember when things started to go horribly wrong - 2007. But even if you get all the unemployed plus all the I Heart Sarah people together, you are still looking at a loss of epic proportions.

Stimulus is a failure

And a one quarter blip in GDP paid for with borrowed money doesnt make it an un-failure.

In that 3rd quarter you tout, over a million private sector jobs were lost.

yeah numbers were goosed by cash for clunker - temporarily.

And for $5 billion or so, we bought a billion worth of cars and destroyed them. Doing a balance sheet analysis on this, it was a terrible waste of money. Did nothing for long-term economic prosperity.

We just put ourselves in hock a bit more to the Chinese to destroy our own wealth and enable buying more japanese cars cheap.

The genius who thought up cash for clunkers is probably the same guy behind the housing bubble.

Palin 2012 race would bring out a lot of debates.

Beginning with the question

if the right's "plans" are such a good idea, why did she quit her job rather than implement them?

What a pathetic retreat to Talking Points

Your friends in the State Run Media are trying to convince voters that 10% + unemployment is the "new normal".

The Chinese Communists are lecturing the callow young lad who is running the country that "he who goes borrowing, goes sorrowing", because they are convinced that Obama is going to monetize the debt.

The Times came out today with a brutal lede today about the explosion in debt service that will hit the USG.

Obama is leaching independents in a serious way, otherwise he wouldn't be peddling this new scam about "deficit reduction", a focus-grouped bit of bunkum taken as a result of the hiding in New Jersey and Virginia.

Conservatives must come up with issues, that is true. But leadership is what wins elections. Issues just fill in the gap.

Trust me, my Democratic friend, all you have given us is the Third Bush Term, with nothing to show for it but decline and debt. Don't think you can fool the voters into thinking a sh*t sandwich is an ice cream cone a second time around.

why this obama lover isn't worried

right now is the worst period of time for obama's first term. By definition it always would have been. This is the point when unemployment is at it's highest and no one has felt any effects of the coming recovery. This is the point when we are all sick of debating healthcare and watching the ugly process of legislation being made. This is the time when we are seeing the fewest results yet are feeling the greatest negatives.

Go forward 12 or 24 months. Healthcare will be something he can crow about. Unemployment will be down. People will be feeling richer as the recovery finally kicks in. Most of the criticisms Obama is facing now will be forgotten as they were never based on anything anyway.

In 2012, Obama's ratings will be in the upper 60s. It won't matter what Palin does.

worst period of obama prez? 2009-2012!

"Go forward 12 or 24 months. Healthcare will be something he can crow about."WOW, are you blind! The Reid bill doesnt even KICK IN UNTIL 2014!!!

that means there is no crowing until 2014, the vice of mandates and rules wont be in full force.

BUT THE TAXES WILL BE.  Way to go, Senator Reid! Once it kicks in, say goodbye to every good in our helathcare system.

"People will be feeling richer as the recovery finally kicks in. "

What recovery? The Democrat plans are killing the recovery.

"Most of the criticisms Obama is facing now will be forgotten as they were never based on anything anyway."

5 million fewer private sector jobs now than when Obama was elected. More blindness.

Obama is clueless on the economy and has done nothing good for it and much bad.

worst period of obama prez? 2009-2012!

Sarah Palin and the GOP

..I can hardly wait for the primary debates to begin!

Who do you think will come off looking worse, Mitt when he roughs her up, or Sarah when she muffs an easy one?

With the spectre of having Rush, Glenn Beck, and Hannity as the GOP's "policy Czars" dictating the platform (did you see the plan for the 80% GOPurity Test from Steele today?  Could have been copied VERBATIM from Hannity's website) the GOP leadership (or at least the few sane ones left) have got to be dreading 2010 and 2012.

I can't think of a better way to confound and vex the base than having Sarah on the same stage as the GOP's Great White Hopes.

And then there's this:  Who's gonna tell her to get off?

People still here

Haven't logged in for while . . . .

Probably the GOP leadership want her out there doing what she does right until Dec 2010.

She's amazing . . .  really energetic . . . up until someone asks her a serious question. Then she's quoting from a note card.

Now, people (the one's that are left) will say Obama does the same with a telepromter. True. Without it, he makes serious mistakes.

One difference, he's president. She's not. People recognize it is easy to snipe. I think Romney will dress her down (no pun) during the primaries  . . . IF she ran.

She's really best doing her roguery thing. She is the free spirit Obama basher. Nothing more.

You neocon big-spender types won't like this...

But here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RgW5tgDIxY

is what you need to see about Sarah Palin.

WTF is this?

So if beating up on Sarah allows the Jon Stewart's and SNL's to take some honest shots on Obama every once in a while, then I hope Palinmania never dies.

What makes you think that taking shots at Palin somehow "allows" shots at Obama???  That's just stupid.

And how does having a nitwit like Palin as a standard bearer to be ridiculed help the GOP win elections???

With the news of Huckabee's past clemencies...

But she has never won a single vote in any GOP primary and, if Mike Huckabee runs, she probably never will.

...we are one step closer to 2012 disaster.

New poll: who is the most infuential conservative?

NEW YORK – By a wide margin, Americans consider Rush Limbaugh the nation’s most influential conservative voice.

Those are the results of a poll conducted by “60 Minutes” and Vanity Fair magazine and issued Sunday. The radio host was picked by 26 percent of those who responded, followed by Fox News Channel’s Glenn Beck at 11 percent. Actual politicians — former Vice President Dick Cheney and former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin — were the choice of 10 percent each.[...]

Huckebee v. Palin

As Governor, she never commuted the sentence of someone that subsequently killed four police officers either.
