Hoover was right all along. Who knew?

Even FDR's own economic team knew that his New Deal interventions had been a complete failure. Here's what FDR's Treasury Secretary, Henry Morganthau, admitted to Congress in May, 1939 . . .
I have just run across a very good article on the relationship between deficit spending and the Great Depression at DownsizeDC, entitled "Mark Twain was right".
It's conclusion: The government caused the Great Depression. Even Ben Bernanke, the Chairman of the Federal Reserve, agrees.
Now if we can only get the government to agree as well, we just might avoid another Great Contraction.

Comments
because when you can't be bothered to read economists
historians, or anything else, you go about denying the holocaust and posting such claptrap as this.

I'm sorry
But even when you make a logical case, I'm finding it a challenge to take it seriously with all the graphic noise. It's all over your posts, your comments, it's apparently your new branding technique. I know you find the animated graphics gimmicky, but I just find them annoying and they're driving me away from engaging in any kind of discussion. Maybe I'm just in a crappy post-election mood and I'm the only one who's having a negative reaction to them, but I'm just sayin'...if others are driven off by them as well, then it might be time for a more conservative brand.
Graphics
I couldn't agree more. David often makes some very cogent points in his posts and comments but I usually skip right by them because I find the flashing graphics juvinile and annoying. Of course the same could be said about 99.99 percent of the web pages on the net. Does anyone know how to selectively disable java to get the content without the visual noise?
Gimmicky Graphics
I agree . . . the graphics are rather distracting. Let your ideas stand or fall on its own merits.
Come on guys, lighten up.
Here, try this one out: Politico's Jonathan Martin's take on the Republican conference held last week, entitled: "Republican ask: Just how bad is it?"
It now seems our party's leadership want to actually wait until the party suffers further losses -- you know, like the kind we suffered in the past -- before it engages the communicative advances of the future. Now I ask you; how hilarious is that?
It is almost as hilarious as Captain Picard, touching Wil Ricker's chest with his finger and having breasts appear.
Sorry, guys; you don't have to read my posts if you don't want to. But if you do, you are going to have to be able to walk and chew gum at the same time.

quit being so bitter.
I know you've lost all your 401k money by believing in bush, and all your real money by investing in the stock market, but economists still understand more than you do. See prior.
Ladies and Gentlemen; I rest my case.
