Sure, the people saying such things tend to be "right-leaning," but I'm not even so sure they really know what 'conservatism' is.

Anyone see Al Sharpton's "hate fest" ?   There were 3,000 people there.  Twice as many as Beck's crowd.

One party is the party of isolationism or nationalism, etc., and then the other party is.  The dynamics work within each party as well, but one party always seems to come out on top in this.

It seems just as natural for the conservative position to be one of religious freedom (which is where I'm at with it).  But I have that 'live an let live' libertarian streak to me, and the old-style "Is this really the business of government?" conservative concerns.

I'm sort of entertained by the NY reaction to the Mosk, but the Baptist are not recruiting suicide Bombers.   If someone strange is in your neighborhood, its common sense to wonder where they came from and why they are there.   It isn't racist, we're at war, ya know ?

Democrats are the kind of people, Historically, that you would send out to "Meet and Greet" Genghis Khan as he rode in over the horizon with his hordes.  You know, to say hello and tell Khan how much love and peace is in your village.   After Khan kills the men greeters, and rapes the Women greeters, he proceeds to the Village where the Republicans have already packed up and saved themselves, to fight another day.

Ditto, OBL in lieu of Khan.   Obama is a greeter and a bower, Putin wants to whip his bunns, and allowing a MOSK in NY means Putin is ready to move into a warmer climate, AKA Cuba. 

Whose gonna stop Putin if you can't protect yourself from OBL and friends ?  

Serious questions arise.  Trillions in Debt is a National Security issue, and so are Mosk builders with bad reputations and even worse friends.

We're in agreement on this one.

I oftentimes use the term "conservative" in quotations intentionally, but sadly the distinction between actual Conservatives and "conservatives" is growing increasing harder to draw.  In this case, in retrospect, I should have entitled the blog post "Check the Link for the Ridiculous Reaction to the Muslim Center Two Blocks From Ground Zero by Some Persons Identifying  Themselves as Conservatives".  It's more fair, but it's a mouthful...

Hopefully both sides can get their houses in order, but I'm not holding my breath.  We've been irrational creatures for our entire existence, so my expectations are low, unfortunately.

New Yorkers are fighting building a Mosk on hallowed ground with words, so far.

I hear the NY Imam owes $225,000,000.00 in Taxes to the IRS ? That definitely makes him a Democrat.

That's a pretty clear overreach.

I think it's safe to say that, a. you're comparing apples to automobiles, and that, b. there's a legitimate contention over whom may have rights to the land upon which Israel is choosing to build (I'm not choosing a side, only highlighting the legitimate contention) that is not at all analogous within the juridiction surrounding Manhattan Island.
