Mike Huckabee: I Trust Him!
As a man of a solid record of integrity and character, I trust Gov. Huckabee's decisions, as they are always based on good judgment, even when they are misunderstood, as this was. He recently made a statement about HuckPAC's choice to support Don Young:

"I have been following the comments regarding Don Young today with interest. Your opinions are important to me and our team, so having read another comment just now asking for an explanation of our endorsement, I wanted to make sure you heard from me directly.
Don Young has been a consistent pro-family, pro-life vote in the Congress. Don also endorsed my campaign and stood by me in the public arena defending my record from false attacks when other members of Congress wouldn't be seen with me. I don't expect everyone to agree with each endorsement we make. I am thankful that we are able to talk about our differences openly and respectfully. Thank you for your comments."--Mike Huckabee
That's good enough for me!

Good for you
The establishment Republicans successfully destroyed Huckabee. The reason they did this is that they are only comfortable with Republicans who put economic "conservatism" absolutely number one, and only spouts social conservative positions to get votes while not really believing them.
Republican "pro-life" presidents put rabid liberal David Souter on the Supreme Court, as well as Anthony Kennedy and Sandra Day O'Conner (who upheld Roe). The current "pro-life" president wanted to do the same with the disaster Harriet Miers.
Social conservatives need to realize that Republicans like Patrick Ruffini are not really their friends.
I, too, am a "fiscal" conservative first...
...that's not to say I support abortion or would not support prayer in public schools. What conservative Republicans support is limited government in all its forms.
As far as this fiscal conservative Republican goes, the last place I want government to be is in the middle of a private decision between a woman, a man and God.
Prayer in public schools is another issue I can readily support if students, and, in the case of juveniles, their parents, have a choice of what school they wish their children to attend, one that allows prayer in the classroom or one that does not. The real issue is choice.
The point is, whether we are social conservative or simply fiscal conservative Republicans, we, as Republicans, must find a way to stand together and not let ourselves be divided by the liberal class.
