I'll be as blunt as possible: Roman Polanski raped a child and should be arrested and thrown into prison for the rest of his life. Regardless of the time that has passed, what he did cannot be excused, especially when this pervert doesn't have the decency to admit what he did was wrong. And what's going on in Hollywood? Actors and actresses are coming out of the woodwork to defend this piece of garbage. Have they no shame? How about any connection with the average person...

There was never any chance of him being "thrown into prison for the rest of his life," even if he hadn't entered into a plea bargain. If the corrupt judge in the case had stuck to the terms of that plea bargain, this would have been over 30 years ago. Even the victim in the case has forgiven Polanski, says she believes he's sorry for what he did, and has even taken the extraordinary step of filing her own suit to try to get the matter thrown out. As things stand, now, it's absurd and entirely unwarranted to insist on inflicting punishment, particularly any jail time.
