Dick Cheney- the Monster Man
I loved what Dennis Miller said tonight on his radio show regarding today's 'DC grudge match' between Obama and Cheney.
He ( Miller) reminded everyone of an NFL defensive strategy whereby someone on the defense is assigned to "trail" a star halfback on the offense at all times- Miller used Ladanian Tomlinson of the San Diego Chargers as the example. The defensive man's sole assignment is to "trail" the running back wherever he goes, whether he gets the ball or not. If Tomlinson goes right, the assigned D-back goes right too, if left...well...you get the picture...
Miller said that Cheney should be assigned by the GOP to constantly "trail" Obama. If Obama speaks, Cheney speaks 30 seconds later, thereby "trailing" BO wherever he goes and whatever he says, for the instant response.
Pop!
That, Miller said, would drive the DNC crazy.
Another brilliant equation by the ebullient Miller!

Like Sarah Palin as the 2012 presidential candidate
Like Sarah Palin as the 2012 presidential candidate, what you are proposing is something that both parties want.
Cheney is getting more popular
CNN polls show that Cheney's popularity has spiked up.
http://edition.cnn.com/2009/POLITICS/05/21/cheney.poll/
The DNC folks and lib-media enablers have painted Cheney as "mr torture" but people see through that distortion to "mr tough on terrorists", someone we need around with this stuff still going on:
http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/FBI-Bust-Plot-Foiled.html
Keep Sarah Palin as the DNC pinata, and she'll ride that liberal scorn all the way to the White House.
Don't you even read the stuff you link to?
That alone should make you embarassed to cite it. But it gets worse:
Bush administration getting more popular
Bush and Cheney both are getting more popular... with every Obama decision that make Bush look better and better in retrospect.
Cheney's public defense is not of himself but of the Bush policies. Thanks for missing the point that Cheney-bashing has not worked.
Peter Kirsanow said it best here: http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=NDQ5OTljNGY3NWM0YzE4ZWE2ZmViMmE1YzUyMDEwNzQ=
‘As a friend succinctly puts it, “When that big asteroid finally heads toward Earth, who’s the person you’d most want to be in charge?” I suspect Cheney would score at or near the top.’
What's he going to do
waterboard it until it falsely promises to change course?
Why don't your remind your "friend" that the "genius" Cheney is ex-Haliburton - the same company whose KBR subsidiary has been electrocuting American servicement in poorly built showers in Iraq, and then sending the taxpayer's bills for fixing their shoddy work.
all you have left is smears
That's all you are at the end of a day, a smear merchant.
You cant defend the incoherent flip-floppery of Obama because it is indefensible. so you attack attack attack.
I know a guy who served in Iraq who takes umbrage at the KBR bashing. They fed him and saved his butt he says. Not that you give a damn about the truth anyway (see above).
So after he finishes waterboarding the asteroid
he is going to project some of his own failings and insecurities on it as well?
Like I said ...
That's all you are at the end of a day, a smear merchant.
Let go of the dark side.
Can I pick Chu? Seriously, someone with actual competence
and not cowardice, please. If it's gotta be someone military, choose someone with some actual logistics expertise, like Gen'l Clark.
I think Dennis Miller is
I think Dennis Miller is correct. Only, for his example to fit perfectly, imagine Cheney with a machine gun, inadvertently gunning down his own team in the process.
Cheney's Aim
Only once has Cheney pointed his gun in the wrong direction. 99.9 % of the time he's hit the bullseye.
Today, he hit the bullseye again.
What was the target?
Human decency?
The target was America's enemies abroad and at home...
did you not get the memo on 9-11 from the bipartisan 9-11 Commission: "America is under attack by a concerted coalition of terrorist groups, supporters and nation states who benefit from continued attacks on America and the Western Free World. America didn't ask for this war; our enemies did and to forget or ignore that point is the first step toward failure for the US and its allies. The sides have been chosen by our aggressors and there is no comfortable middle ground in this War on Terror."
Good God, you can ask "is the target human decency" while the terrorists butcher innocents in the streets they control? Mutilate women without concern. Spread hatred with religious fervor?
My only question to you 3rdEyeBlue is: Are you on the side of terrorists or decent human beings in the Free World? Because from your comments, you sound about as wrong-headed as some sympathetic ACLU lawyer protecting the terrorists while ferreting out secret messages from the terrorists in prison. Wrong on all counts.
Oh wait; I bet you voted for Obama? That explains it.
Meanwhile, in another part of town, there was a guy
Meanwhile, in another part of town, there was a guy forcefully laying out the idea that our IDEALS are ultimately our best defense.
Who was that?
Oh, yeah, Obama. Laying out the "legal justification" for indefinite detention of Gitmo prisoners.
So much for idealism, these are terrorists, huh Mr. Obama?
Sorry, for a second I confuse him for Cheney.
keeping them as Pows is perfectly legal.
it's the whole "enemy combatants can be tortured and genitally mutilated" thing that I don't like,.
we have Rules of Law, and I like to see us abide by them, where possible.
Obama continuing Bush-Cheney policies on handling AQ
The kool-aid drinkers didnt get it. They've been had. They will keep believing the words and ignore the actions.
Obama was mugged by the reality of the War on Terror, a war he wont name as such. But then he has almost a thousand dangerous terrorists on his hands and he either gets American citizens killed, or he breaks some promises.
Some liberals have their eyes wide open:

indefinite screaming
It's funny, isn't it?
Bush supports indefinite detention of terrorists - polls support it - the left screams "the people are being brainwashed by right-wing media"
Obama supports indefinite detention of terrorists - polls support it - the left screams "stop picking on Obama, he's doing the right thing"
Cheney succeeds in getting
Cheney succeeds in getting the world to acknowledge the fears of a white male of a certain age in America. The world dangerous and full of black and brown people who what to rape and pillage his town and he has to do whatever it takes to protect it, including destroying it.
Well if there only two sides....
"Are you on the side of terrorists or decent human beings in the Free World?"
I'll door number two Bob, and you're not going to convince me that either you or Dick Cheney are included in that group.
A little lesson for Molotov
Molotov, you need to go out and drink a cocktail instead of trying to throw one.
History will eventually show Cheney (and Bush) to have been the right men for the right time in our American history. History will validate their efforts.
Lest we forget, the press and other men in power at the time called Abraham Lincoln a "baboon" while he served. This is nothing more than history repeating itself. History and time always smooth things out over time and history will eventually validate the Bush years. Granted they (Bush-Cheney) were not perfect and for sure, he (Bush) couldn't speak his way out of a paper bag, but actions always speak louder than words and the record cannot be incorrectly spun over the fact that we have had (as Cheney noted yesterday) almost 8 years of not being attacked because of the actions and good governance of the Bush administration. That record of safety and security speaks volumes to the venomous spew and plethora of "baboon"like comments from the left that we now hear.
Now it's Obama's turn. How he governs and the choices he makes, as he makes history, will be validated or invalidated by the same rule of time. History is the great decider and definer of truth, not the histrionics of today.
History is going to reprint the photo of W under the "Mission
History is going to reprint the photo of W under the "Mission Accomplished" banner and caption it "the worst president ever, who started a needless war while neglecting and important one and also brought the economy to the brink of disaster".
Hey at least he didn't snub kindergartners
http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/Kindergarteners-Snubbed-for-Steelers.html
What an awful, awful man.
Of course I post this tongue in cheek.
But it probably would have been the lead story on CBS news if Bush were still president.
roflcopter
... actually, i do believe you're right.
cheney is a neoconservative
his principles are based on authoritarianism advocated by leo strauss, who believed the elite should rule the masses. none of the military actions he took were in any way coherent with conservative values.
Grande and Next right nando
....shades of "baboonism".
heh
maybe you're thinking of the monkey that was in the white house last year.
this talking point about history proving cheney right is so funny...loving it. also, i'm glad now that gwb is out of office, everyone can drop the pretense that he was anything more than cheney's "good ol boy" mouthpiece.
