Gitmo talk:It's not that they can escape....

It's what they bring in. It's what they do to others in converting them inside prison.

that sound you hear is the

that sound you hear is the sound of a meme changing . . .

The meme you should be hearing is

"Don't close Gitmo"

1) We spent $200 million building it

2) It is a state of the art facility, and it was built specifically for this type of prisoner

3) It is off shore

4) If the only reason liberals can come up with for closing it is "it's used as a recruiting tool" then they need to think that all the way through. Not wanting to make our mortal enemies angry is a rediculoius notion, and they have plenty of fuel for their fire of hatred. 9/11 happened before Gitmo.

We are now in the area of symbolism over reality.

sometimes is easier to get

sometimes is easier to get people to cooperate with you when they don't think you're being a prick.

Yeah

No sense in "being a prick" about having 3,000 Americans murdered in cold blood.

You make a good point.

The world is bigger than our

The world is bigger than our enemies. Our friends make judgements also.

And with some people

the only time they will listen is when they know you're stronger than they are, and that you'll flatten them if they don't listen to you.

FYI, Molotov, "pretty please" doesn't work in the Middle East.

First, I'm not at all

First, I'm not at all convinced you have any clue what works in the Middle East.  Second, the US has the strongest military in the world several times over. By your reasoning, the people should be scared of us already.

Radicalized in prison?

Like these guys?

Aryan Brotherhood members make up less than one-tenth of one percent of the nation's prison inmate population, yet the white power gang is responsible for 18% of all prison murders, according to the FBI.

. . .

While the precise number of Aryan Brotherhood members and associates is not known, the gang has chapters in virtually every major state and federal prison in the country. Estimates of AB's total strength vary widely, but nearly all exceed 15,000 members and associates nationwide, with roughly half in prison and half out.

. . .

In October 2001, another member of the Aryan Brotherhood of Texas who was enraged by the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks gunned down a Bangladeshi gas station attendant simply because the victim "looked Arab."
