Resonding to Obama

Congressman Peter Hoestra (R-Mi) is fast becoming the spokesperson for arguments against the transfer of Gitmo detainees to US soil.  I commend the Congressman for his forthright stance on this delicate issue.

It seems that we are seeing a groundswell of support against the Gitmo relocation and population of our prisons with detainees, beginning with the Keep Terrorists Out of America Act. in Congress.

It seems that the president has clearly heard from the people of the United States, as reflected in this weeks House vote in response to closing Gitmo and the word is this:

"NIMBY" (Not in my back yard)

Obama's response was to take his arguement to the American people (with the backdrop of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence as a back drop...smooth move, presidential handlers) in an 'end around'  attempt to drive Congress to submission to his way of thinking.

If this groundswell of support against the transfer builds, will Obama defiantly say in response to the will of the people," Yes we can"?

Obama will say  "Grow some

Obama will say  "Grow some stones you big babies." I love how the Republicans, so macho and tough, are so scarey scared that some Gitmo detainee is in the U.S. And this is supposed to be the party strong on defense? Give me a break. The Daddy party has become a bunch thumbsuckers. That's ok. Obama and the US Military will protect you. Go make some more tea bags.

you're kidding, right?

You're kidding, right?  This is supposed to be a serious argument?

First, KSM, mastermind of 9/11, is just "some Gitmo detainee".

Second, riddle me this: What happens when "some Gitmo detainee" is transferred to US soil, gets full protection of US laws, has his day in court, and is acquitted?  What then?

what's more disconcerting

is what they might do on the inside. We are told supermax prisons keep you pretty much isolated, but the one is Colorado only has one bed available.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Leave them in Gitmo.
