Hello Muddah, Hello Faddah,....NOT!

I came into possession of this e-mail, which does not conjure up pictures of happy children in the Catskills hiking and swimming

I want to tell you about an exciting program we're launching called Camp Obama.

During these training sessions, people like you will be taking their support for this movement to the next level by learning the organizing principles that this campaign and our movement for change are built on.

Camp Obama attendees will receive real world organizing experience that will have a direct impact on this election. Graduates of Camp Obama will go on to become Deputy Field Organizers who will lead this campaign to victory in crucial battleground states around the country.

Find out more about this exciting opportunity to take a leadership role in this movement for change.

By participating in Camp Obama, you'll get the kind of experience that Barack got as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago, where he learned that real change happens from the bottom up.

That experience transformed Barack's life and made him who he is today.

Camp Obama is your chance to put those very same principles into action -- to win this election and to strengthen democracy in communities around the country.

After completing the program, you'll be required to work as a Deputy Field Organizer in a battleground state where you'll be organizing supporters and helping lead our grassroots Get Out The Vote operation.

Apply for a spot at Camp Obama and become a leader in our movement for change:

This campaign relies on the passion and enthusiasm of ordinary supporters, but it needs leaders who can organize these supporters and turn their enthusiasm into votes on Election Day.

Camp Obama is your chance to step up and become a leader in this movement.

So, being a community organizer "transformed Barack's life and made him who he is today." (and what is that, precisely?)

I dunno, but here's what a mainstream paper wrote about this little endeavor. Trust me, it does not sound very Jeffersonian in its approach

'Ruthless' for Obama

WEST LOOP | Intensive course gets volunteers fired up, turns them into activists

The next tip is to be absolutely ruthless," Jocelyn Woodards tells the campers. "We want you to be determined, ambitious, take a risk."

No toasted marshmallows here. This is the second day of Camp Obama, a two-day (sometimes four-day) intensive training course in becoming an activist to help get Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) elected president. .......

Obama is not like other candidates, and part of this training is learning to mimic the methods he used before he was an elected official -- back when he was a community organizer in Chicago following the textbook of legendary agitator Saul Alinsky......

"We want you to stop thinking about Barack Obama and be Barack Obama," she says.

Scary, isn't it.

I have previously been concerned the Obama camp does not want to keep the same rules as previous campaigns. They are directly trying to build a personality based political movement which can be independent of the old-line Democratic organization; whom I suspect they believe are too associated with pragmatic DLC types.

Now I think my fears have been confirmed.

No, this is clearly an effort  to indoctrinate a new crop of leftist social activists, whose idea of responding to an economic crisis will be the harassment of productive businesses and citizens. Perhaps mirth will occur at these sessions--I'm sure many jokes about Governor Palin's children will be exchanged.  Maybe the Obama personal seal will be displayed, or a Roman Temple constructed to received the "One's" word from on high.

I have no idea if Kool-Aid will be served, by the way.

The principle here will be that America must change exactly the way the far left wants it to change, and dissenting opinions will be disrespected and mocked.  That's what "Camp Obama" is all about. Getting ruthless  and "being Barack Obama"

And after the browbeating of the major Jewish groups over the Iran protest, the hacking of Sarah Palin's personal e-mails, the desire to censor talk radio and sundry other affronts to human decency from the Obama camp, one wonders if they have a different camp  in mind for their political opponents
