Since there's likely to be a special in NY 20

Might I point out we might have the misfortune of running another Oberweis/Jenkins style candidate.

I'm more interested in one of these candidates (although Faso has some big losses on the record)

NY election law

What is the law for New York - does the Governor get to pick replacements for House seats too?  Hopefully not.

No

It will be a special

Treadwell spent a ton, but lost this seat by 20 plus points in '08. He is from Lake Placid, which is tiny and over 100 miles from the district's center of gravity just outside Albany. He is an older WASP and these guys aren't running too well.

Faso is very well thought of as a former legislative leader, but lost a heartbreaker race for Comptroller in '02 and was crushed by Eliot Spitzer in '06; might be some buyer's remorse now.

Little is a very conservative Irish granny from the Glens Falls area; which is a pretty well populated area of this district.
