Media digging for dirt on Sarah Palin
The media is going after Sarah Palin. Hard. Listen to this phone call to Kevin Wall, filling in on Bill Bennett's radio program. It's an Alaskan process server, who who called in to talk about how many calls she's getting from media organizations trying to get court records on Sarah Palin, her son Trak, and their friends. She names the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times. The relevant portion starts about 1 minute in.
This is the stuff that opposition researchers usually do. I would expect the Obama campaign and the DNC to go after the personal records of Palin's family and friends like this, but the media? Did they go after Barack Obama this thoroughly on personal history?
UPDATE
The Left isn't exactly covering themselves in dignity, either. Randi Rhodes claims McCain was "well treated" in Vietnam.
Of course he became very friendly with the Vietnamese. They called him the Prince. He was well treated actually. And he was well treated because he traded these propaganda interviews for good treatment. So look, it’s a horrible story anyway you cut it, anyway you look at it, any way you you you deal with it.
But, it’s not the story Fred Thompson told. Nor is it the story Rudy Giuliani told. Nor is it the story Sarah Palin told. Nor is it the story anybody. Cindy McCain knew to limit herself to ‘I think what my husband did in Vietnam was heroic’ because she knows the truth too.

Well treated
For all we know Randi Rhodes pays people to tie her up and smack her around.
media and political opponents have had a leisurely year
and a half to look for dirt on Obama (haven't found much). With only 8 weeks to the genreal election and an unknown person selected as VP, fast, hard vetting is called for in the Palin's case. Much about her concerns me. But mostly I'm concerned about general direction of leadership from the White House, so lets keep focus on the issues. How would Mccain/Palin policies differ from current administration, which has left country in perilous position on many fronts?
Obama's remarks encourage character assassination
Who said lefties lack imagination...
Still Obama encourages this sort of character assassination by the example he sets with remarks like the lipstick comment. Is this really what anyone wants from the leader of the free world?
Very odd
that Obama can;t produce his legislative records, his college and law school transcripts, or one than one page of medical records, but can send a team of minions to sift through Alaskan courthouses
This is a byproduct...
... - one of the few, of the democrat party & msm. The 2 terms becoming synonymous. This method of super intense muck raking. They've lowered themselves once again just when you thought they couldn't go any lower. Totally silent about Obama's sordid past but they're up there with this "dream team" of lawyers, PI's and investigative journalists in desperation trying to find anything on Sarah. And it appears that they're not having any success.
The one thing they didn't count on - that this entire endeavor of theirs up there in Alaska, would, itself, be reported to the public.
This demonstrates the blind side of the democrat party brought on by their raw hatred. Their arrogance. Its time for the GOP to go in for the kill "and" its time for a new 2nd party to replace the dying, terminal, suicidal democrat party. Darvin Dowdy
"Talk about putting lipstick on a pig."
This says it all: http://www.time-blog.com/swampland/2008/09/apology_not_accepted.htmlThe last line is the best line: "Talk about putting lipstick on a pig."Wow, a week is a long time in politics.-- Kevin BI'm saying it now: President Barack H. Obama, Jr., 2009 - 2017
So what'sitmean when a bill says
So what'sitmean when a bill says:
"Each class or course in comprehensive sex education offered in any of grades K through 12 shall include instruction on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections, including the prevention, transmission and spread of HIV."
What exactly does that entail for a kindergarten student?
Jon Henke, are you, after all, insane?
Or is TheNextRight just, after all, a GOP propaganda mill? I mean, I understand that you all are involved in the life of the party, but I thought that you convened here under more authentic intellectual auspices than to drivel on about phony lipstick/pig stuff that's obviously wholly manufactured by campaign operatives.
Do you seriously think that "the media" have not been out there furiously digging for dirt, any dirt, on Obama? Or that anyone, Dem or GOP, would or should expect any less? And that "media" should not do the same with Palin? That we, the American people, have no right to know what there is to know about Sarah Palin, even though John McCain clearly did not give a shit once the focus-group canvassing results about putting her on the ticket came in?
And all this outrages you, while the McCain campaign cranks up the whole Rovian B.S. machine--ads about wolves, about Obama as a black pedophile smiling at kindergarteners, and the whole perverted nine yards of Republican psychosexual bogeyman craziness? The old routine patented by Karl, son of a gay man, who lies down with homophobes?
As that great phony macho guy James Frey put it, Fuck the bullshit--it's time to throw down. See you all in hell, sleep tight, you morons, and all that good stuff.
Wow, what a load of bile!
What Obama doesn't want known...
Let's see so far the Palin rumor mill is what? 0-71
I really think Democrats are having buyers remorse with their candidate of choice. I mean, why sling the mud so hard at the VP candidate? Because Obama can't compare himself to McCain in any favorable way.
