Obama's Banking Committee Confusion

Yesterday, Obama assumed he was already the President.   Today, he seems to be under the impression that he's on the Senate Banking Committee....

“Just this past week, we passed out of the U.S. Senate Banking Committee, which is my committee, a bill to call for divestment from Iran...”

Barack Obama is not on the US Senate Banking Committee.

However, we certainly wish Sen. Obama the best of luck in being appointed to the Senate Banking Committee in 2009.

we need a president who can use PRONOUNS correctly! like BUSH DOES!!!!

maybe he got himself confused with Chris Dodd....

Maybe he misspoke?

As this CNN post makes clear, the bill contained Obama-sponsored provisions.  Not a "gaffe," but a "mistake."  He meant to say "my bill," because it was his bill.  His campaign has now issued a statement.  I, however, wish you lot good luck in finding better gaffes going forward.  Maybe you can find one somewhere near the border of Pakistan and Iraq?  Or perhaps in Czechoslovakia?

Good luck in November, rightys.  Enjoy your 40 years in the wilderness.

Obama gaffes galore!

Anytime he presumptously playacts as President is Gaffe-tastic! (HT Hotair for the term)

"Vero Possumus" -- which means "The possum speaks truthily."

And then there are these gems in here:

Such as "
Barack Obama 'pressed the wrong button' six times when voting in the Senate! Morning Joe is aghast."

and ...

A whole blog devoted to Obama gaffes ...

http://www.obamasgaffes.blogspot.com/

Stuff like:

BARACK OBAMA: I'm going to call in the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and give them a new mission, and that is to bring the war in Iraq to a close.  We are going to get out.

I hope before he gets elected someone will advise him that  The Joint Chiefs of Staff does not have operational command of U.S. military forces.  Weekly Standard blog had this to say:

"I know Obama is a student of military matters and intellectually voracious, so it is thus rather stunning that he would betray such ignorance regarding the way the military actually functions. In truth, the Joint Chiefs are not part of the chain of command. Indeed, they are specifically by statute not part of the chain of command but instead serve solely in an advisory capacity to the president."

finding better gaffes ?

Like how in the same statement he divided and undivided Jerusalem?

McGaffe

Touche. How about how McCain started the surge before it actually started? Or is talking about that somehow undermining the troops?

Poor thing...

Aw he's just a lowly US Senator, why would he know the difference between a "bill" and a "committee" other than that they start with neighboring letters in the alphabet?

But since requests are made for more gaffes of the Promised One, telling grand stories about how his grandfuncle enlisted the next day six months after Pearl Harbor to fight march alongside Patton in WWII, seemingly having trouble telling the Red Army apart from the US Army liberating Auschwitz and Treblinka Buchenwald? How about him seeing dead people? Or his classic yet endearing concern for Whole Food shopping arugula addicts in... Iowa? How about something more recent, like his absolutely clear gaffe in Amman yesterday during his tripping the live photo-op fantastic tour: "Let me be absolutely clear... Israel is a strong friend of Israel's." Then there's his ambition to preside over the 57, 58 or 59 United States of America. Or, when he shows off his "foreign policy credentials" by not knowing when Hugo Chavez came to power (it's all Bush's fault y'know!) Heck, in March last year someone already noticed the horrendous case of gaffitis that The Phenomenon chronically suffers from...

And that's just a very small sampling of what is being billed as a "good speaker". Sounds to me like we have a ripe candidate here for another legendary load of bushisms. Freshly graduated from the well-reputed Chicago School of Honest Politicians too!

At least John McCain is running as a Republican candidate; another accomplishment Obama seems to envy, wanting to make up for it with his tall Münchhausen tales!

Need to go easy on that Rookie Senator Obama

After all he was only in the Senate a year before he started running for President.

Maybe he hasnt had time to sit down and go through the Senatorial film strip information session on how a bill is made. He's a busy guy.
