The Right Idea is a good
The Right Idea is a good format. I like the videos and will look at more. It is nice to see who the people are-connecting faces and demeanor.
On episode 11. Kristen Soltis said something to the effect that "people do not know what the social issues are" "and maybe the word is not getting out."
Well, I can only speak for myself. We have seen a country ran by a social conservative and everything is a mess. The other point is if people are losing jobs, they are worried about their jobs and where the next paycheck is coming from. Social issues are the last thing on people's minds. We know what the arguments are, but jobs come first. I suppose if we were all rich and had nothing to do, then we could talk of social issues. Abortion and gay marriage should be off the table, just as well as those for gun control-it is off the table. All of this is for another day.
But even for this "another day" the political parties start losing control of what the basics of our country should be. You invest in your people, your country, and in the future. If you start going off on social programs and ideology, then you lose your place in how to run the country. As I have said, we had social conservative rule for 8 years. These people for the most part and for whatever reason are in a different world. And they do not know what reality really is. And this is the way the republican party will end up each time. They forget the middle class. They forget how to run the country. They want to replace pragmatism with ideology. I have seen it too many times.
Even Chris Matthews had Mike Pence cornered on science.

So when we see people out there in la la land, I have to wonder just what chance our country has in succeeding with republicans. On the opposite end of the scale, if we see more welfare by the democrats, that will be disastrous.
I know that you have said many times (on the next right) that the republicans have to show something, and you are correct. And I have said many times, people in the Midwest have voted for Obama and there is a reason for that.
