It is called Going Galt.
It stems from a classic American novel written by Ayn Rand called Atlas Shrugged. Although written in 1954, the book is as timely as ever. click here for the story

Quitting on America
As a liberal American, I say, "Go for It, conservatives. Go Galt!"
I'm encouraging all of my competitors to go Galt.
I own a small business and I'm encouraging all of my competitors to go Galt. The sooner the better.
I find it amazing that people do not understand that if your take home pay is $249,000 per year, and it goes up to $251,000 per year, you will, after taxes, even under the new regime, still have more money!.
I actually clicked the link in the OP. There is a lot of talk about "looting" in there. Now then: what Obama is proposing for the new top rate of tax is.39.6%....what it was in 2000.
"Looting"? Give me a break.
You begin your post with "I understand..."
which strikes me as odd language for a person to use if they have researched policy and come to the disturbing conclusion that in fact "some national policies are moving us towards socialism" as you say. I would think that most people would say "I believe" or "I have concluded" if they have reached a personal decision, rather than the vague "I understand" (which to me is more indicative of "I have been told" or "I have been led to think"). Can you share the policies you have come to the conclusion are leading us toward socialism?
I also followed your link and read through the supermarket discussion there. It assumes that no one will open a competing store, or that an existing competitor won't compensate by carrying (and selling) more of the products that local consumers are most likely to seek on an "I need it today" basis on the days the Go Galt store owner is closed. For example: If my local Safeway owner decides to close three days a week to Go Galt, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the 7-11 owner down the street stock up on (and make high profit margins on) the kind of items that the locals are likely to dash in for on the day the Galt owner's store is closed -- milk, bread, TP, etc. And what of the possibility the local community will move on entirely from the Galt owner's store and instead drive a half-mile further to give all their business to a competing store that is reliably open? It seems likely the Go Galt owner is accomplishing little more than cutting off their nose to spite their face.
I'd be interested in your personal interpretation of what "Going Galt" must look like to be truly effective in reducing tax revenue to the point that government cries uncle.
I encourage all lawyers to go galt
because this economy too damn many other lawyers, so I wont mind a few of them getting out of the way.
Anyone notice all this talk of people going galt, but no one has done it yet? jeez Michelle Malkin go galt already, what are these people waiting for? each they go to work saying oh yeah we are gonna go galt.
is it because they realize the second they do there are thousands of people who want to work who would take their place in a second and not complain about the extra tax burden?
Ayn Rand? No kidding.
Wow, I had no idea that this "Going Galt" stuff originated in a 1954 novel by some Rand chick with a real goofy first name.
When I heard about it last week on FOX, I just assumed it came from those two mustachioed guys on the Guinness Stout commercials, because it was so obviously..... BRILLIANT!
It's comforting...
...knowing that no matter how bad any of my ideas are, they couldn't possibly be as dumb as this one.

Were the Ayn Randians
this up in arms during the Clinton years, when tax rates were the same as what Obama wants to raise them to? In retrospect, it's amazing that we made it through that socialist era.
