Obama VS The Fly
PETA has come out with a strong statement that falls just short of outright criticism of Obama for his televised execution of a housefly during an interview.
The group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants the flyswatter in chief to try taking a more humane attitude the next time he's bedeviled by a fly in the White House.
"We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals," PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich said Wednesday. "We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals."
Well, I am siding with Obama on this one. This fly was particularly annoying, flying around and irritating the leader of the free world, even though there was a garden variety reporter a few feet away. I'm thinking that this may have been a North Korean or Iranian fly, sent to embarrass the president.
But the fly soon learned what the Somali pirates learned: Don't get in Obama's face.
Obama dispatched the fly efficiently and dispassionately, even having the camera zoom in on the dead carcass on the floor. He probably intended to send a message to other flies with the same intentions.
Predictably, some left leaning bleeding heart organization has come out in favor of the criminal instead of the victim. Don't fall for it. This fly got what it had coming to it, and to think otherwise is foolish and will only encourage similar attacks by other flying insects. Obama did the right thing, and I support him.

Funny, Lonestar!
i appreciate your sense of humor -- especially enjoyed the 'garden variety reporter' line. Maybe you should offer your services to David Letterman...
for the record, about PETA
They INTENTIONALLY make absurd pronouncements like this specifically to get publicity for their organization and cause.
They really didn't care about the fly, but coming out in defense of the fly is a cheaper way to get publicity than paying for advertising.
lolz
always enjoy your sense of humor. PETA is nuts, always has been.
PETA . . . good people.
Talk about left of the left! But, they really do good things. Maybe you can fun of some of the extreme positions, but they really go out of their way for what they believe in.
And like 'Ray in TX' said, it's free advert. Crazy and savvy!
