AK-1: Support Sean Parnell Today

A few minutes ago I got an email from the Club for Growth asking me to support Sean Parnell on the final day of the 2nd quarter. I didn't even need to read it -- I knew what to do. I clicked through and contributed, and felt really good about it. You should too.

Sean Parnell -- Sarah Palin's lieutenant governor -- is challenging Don "It's my money!" Young in the August 26th Republican primary for Alaska's at-large House seat.

Young is the worst of the worst when it comes to the nexus of corruption and earmarks. He was the original sponsor of the Bridge to Nowhere. And he is under an FBI bribery investigation.

Some people don't like to rock the boat with primaries, but this one is about saving this seat and sending a message that the GOP can police itself. Young has so discredited himself that he is running behind his Democratic opponent. Parnell keeps this seat in Republican hands.

This is not a difficult call. Let's help elect an honest, conservative, Sarah Palin Republican to Congress. Contribute to Sean Parnell today, before the filing deadline.

Special bonus: It's really cheap to run campaigns in Alaska. Your dollars will go further here than virtually anywhere else this cycle.

Please post about your contribution in the comments. It can be as little as $5.

Club for Growth

They should stop attacking our incumbents.

Whether or not we have a problem with Don Young, who has served the party well....this primary hurts us in the Senate race that we need to hold onto by fracturing the party and making Don Young who looks to win, spend money on a primary and not turning out votes in the general.

The Club For Growth attacked our candidate for Governor in Viginia in 2005, they attacked Gov. Huckabee in Iowa this year, and now they're attacking our incumbent Congressman?

We have enough problems getting Republicans elected without them.

I disagree, I love the Club for Growth

I think a primary is a good way to keep Republicans true to their principles.  The Club for Growth only goes after the worst of the worst, Republicans who repeatedly tax and spend like liberal Democrats.  Don Young is an abomination on spending, this one congressman has significantly tarnished the Republican brand with his over-the-top spending proposals, such as the "Bridge to Nowhere".

There are a lot of divisions in the Republican Party on different issues, but I think all conservatives can all agree that Republicans should be for less government spending and lower taxes.  If a Republican can't sign on to that platform, frankly I want them gone.  In addition to Young's bad policies, there are very credible corruption "issues" that he is facing.

If Young loses the genral election, it won't be the Club or Growth's fault, it will be his own.

Great Cause!

This primary will really send a ripple through the Republican party.  We need to purge Republicans like Don Young from our ranks if we want to regain our brand as being sound on fiscal policy and good stewards with taxpayer dollars.

BTW, how tight is this primary?  Last I heard Parnell was leading, is this still true?

I contributed

Thank you Mr. Ruffini for the encouragement to support Mr. Parnell (via Club for Growth) over that bridge-to-no-where incumbent.  I only contributed a small amount, but I hope to see him win the primary and general elections.

I'm hoping Senator McCain chooses Gov. Palin as his VP choice as well.
