A House Seat Pick Up for the CA GOP?

Looked at some of the interesting primary results across California.  Here is one that stood out: 

  Jerry McNerney (D) 33,997
  Dean Andal (R) 35,042  

This is for the 11th Congressional District in California.  Both candidates ran unopposed in their respective primaries so the result above is stunning.  If the election were held today, Dean Andal would have unseated incumbent Jerry McNerney.   Usually reliable Flashreport.org is mum on this one as the entire site is obssessed with McClintock's win in the 4th District.

I'm not surprised. McClintock is God in California.

In the wake of Arnold's complete cave to the Assembly Democrats, no one should be surprised that Republican Democrats have turned to Tom, and Tom's ego. He's getting all the news and Mojo from the State activists. It's good to hear that other Pubs are starting to do well. 

Nice to see good Republican turnout in CA-11, in any event. Still, you can expect McClintock to soak up all the money.

basing anything on the primary results. Because California had the primary everyone cared about in February, turnout was low (and that still isn't a very large difference). Turnout will be high in November.

Of course this comes with the usual caveats

However, this is an open primary in California, i.e., independent voters can request any of the party's ballot and vote for any of the nominee.  With the result showing Andal leading Pelosi's token country boy in this environment is worth paying attention to.  Andal is a fierce taxpayer advocate in the state, probably outshone only by Tom McClintock (who will be the next CA congressman).  Remember that in the last three Dem pickups of GOP seats, the Dem candidate lead the Republican candidate in the primaries.

The district slightly leans R, and a good Republican should be able to take the seat back.

Arnold is handling his

Arnold is handling his government in a tremondous way.He gots a good name in the society.So next election also his party will win in a huge different.
