IOWA says that Gay Marriage is Legal

This is a proud day for the American Heartland.

I would hope that Republicans might listen -- this is not the time to be moving more towards extremism.

that virtually no court will support efforts to restrict same-sex marriage.  This isn't just a Massachusetts thing anymore.  I mean, we're talking about Iowa, the embodiment of the heartland.

This issue should not be decided by the courts.  IMO it's a matter for the voters or the legislature.  The real harm is that the courts are allowed jurisdiction, not whether they decide pro or con.

Presumably the religious right will be unhappy.  Had they allied with the GOP's limited-government branch instead of with its spendaholics and crooks, I'd take their concerns seriously.  They didn't and I don't.

and yes, it is convoluted, and yes the people will get a chance to decide -- by electiong social conservatives, if they want...
