Murphy and McCain
Submitted by Sean Hackbarth on Mon, 07/07/2008 - 16:21
Bill Kristol thinks Mike Murphy will be joining the McCain campaign soon. I haven't seen Murphy's work up close but he has a solid track record on McCain's 2000 Presidential run and Mitt Romney's 2002 governor run. More importantly McCain trusts Murphy and is willing to accept criticism. Kristol writes, "As observers of the 2000 effort know, he has a deep rapport with McCain — including an ability to tell him when he’s made a mistake."
I'm disappointed it's taken three months for McCain to get his campaign organized, but I'm starting to have hope they'll be able to develop themes to best position McCain to "NOT OBAMA" voters.

Is This The Same Murphy?
Who ran the disastorus Lazio campaign against Clinton?
When he last ran a Mccain campaign did he win? I didn't think so.
Your point?
There are lots of losers in the campaign consulting game. I'm glad McCain is seeing there's a problem with his and he's bringing on people he trusts to tell him when he's wrong.
He's Not The Solution
There are no consultants with perfect records, although I would not be too encouraged by a consulant who failed to take the same candidate to victory.
My main point is that McCain is the problem and if he does not sort himself out he will suffer the consequences.
I can say one good thing about Murphy
He is from MI. That alone is a huge plus.
