The Country Grieves…Pelosi-Obama Gloat.

While millions of Americans grieve over the MURDER of 13 US servicemen and women by a turncoat Muslim home-made Jihadist, and the PC spin doctors race to tell us not to sit in judgment, our country’s leadership, in the persons of Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama, are celebrating the passage of the most heinous piece of legislation ever to darken the halls of our Capitol by FIVE VOTES. Certainly NO MANDATE…and absolutely certain to doom the careers of many politicians who, despite the tens of thousands of emails, telephone calls, letters and personal visits from their constituents, felt insulated enough to vote for the health care bill in direct contravention of the wishes of the people.

I spoke about a quote attributed to Japanese Fleet Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto after the attack on Pearl Harbor which brought the US into World War Two in which he said, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve”. That terrible resolve is the US TAXPAYER/CITIZEN/VOTER and this ‘Government’, if that’s what it can be called, is going to hear more and more from us, as are the ‘lawmakers’ of this country who feel that they can abrogate the oaths that they took to serve the public good and the Constitution of the United States of America. In truth, there is very little in this bill that would pass Constitutional muster. Obama, Pelosi and the Demarxists know this full well. Which is why they had to make sure NO ONE was able to scrutinize that 2000+ page monstrosity.

My own kid’s applications to Little League got more oversight than that. To say nothing of having to produce a VALID birth certificate. We are going to name and highlight every ‘Representative’ who voted in favor of this bill as we will highlight every Senator who votes for it. We will ‘name them and shame them’, to borrow a phrase from syndicated radio talk show host Michael Savage.

They had better not get too comfortable in the beltway because next year is almost here and there will be the ultimate political price to pay…we are going to vote them out of office. Even some of the Representatives who feel that they are in heretofore unassailable districts will be shaken out of their comfy little sinecures. The clock is ticking…

I don't care.

I'm done with the GOP until it regains its sanity.

Nice try

But really, you are fooling yourself if you think your are speaking for all Americans regarding the health care reform.

I'm sure they are quite scared

 Skippy says:

Certainly NO MANDATE…and absolutely certain to doom the careers of many politicians who, despite the tens of thousands of emails, telephone calls, letters and personal visits from their constituents, felt insulated enough to vote for the health care bill in direct contravention of the wishes of the people.

And yet, think back to 2008, when the Democrats campaigned on a promise of HCR and in turn were elected to control of the White House, the Senate, and the House.

Care to resolve that disconnect, Skippy?

Moreover, how do the American people feel about he way the health care system was allowed to fester under the Bush Administration?

Oct. 20— Americans express broad, and in some cases growing, discontent with the U.S. health care system, based on its costs, structure and direction alike — fueling cautious support for a government-run, taxpayer-funded universal health system modeled on Medicare.

In an extensive ABCNEWS/Washington Post poll, Americans by a 2-1 margin, 62-32 percent, prefer a universal health insurance program over the current employer-based system. That support, however, is conditional: It falls to fewer than four in 10 if it means a limited choice of doctors, or waiting lists for non-emergency treatments.

Support for change is based largely on unease with the current system's costs. Seventy-eight percent are dissatisfied with the cost of the nation's health care system, including 54 percent "very" dissatisfied.

Indeed, most Americans, or 54 percent, are now dissatisfied with the overall quality of health care in the United States — the first majority in three polls since 1993, and up 10 points since 2000.

Yet apprehension about the system is counterbalanced by broad satisfaction among insured Americans with their own current quality of care, coverage and costs — a situation that tends to encourage a cautious approach to change. While the system is seen to have gaps, flaws and an uncertain future, it's also seen to work for most people.

Among insured Americans, 82 percent rate their health coverage positively. Among insured people who've experienced a serious or chronic illness or injury in their family in the last year, an enormous 91 percent are satisfied with their care, and 86 percent are satisfied with their coverage.

Still, cost concerns are prompting some evasive action: Nearly one in four Americans, 23 percent, say they or someone in their family put off medical treatment in the last year because of the cost. (Among uninsured people, this soars to 49 percent.) And 12 percent say they or someone in their household bought prescription drugs from a foreign country — a violation of federal law.

In addition to universal coverage, there are other areas in which the public favors change. Nearly seven in 10 say it should be legal to buy prescription drugs from foreign countries, despite the FDA's safety qualms. Three-quarters favor the $400 billion plan to cover prescription drugs in Medicare; most would pay higher taxes to fund it. Most also favor the creation of HMO-based Medicare options that cover prescription drugs but limit the choice of doctors.

There's long been a schism in concern about health care costs: Most Americans are dissatisfied with the costs of the system overall, and apprehensive about their future expenses — but satisfied with their own current costs.

It is almost as if Skippy is badly out of touch!

The markets don't seem to agree with your sentiment though. The markets give at least twice as much chance for the Dems than the Reps to control the House. And the chances at Intrade spiked a little UP(not Down) after the bill passed the house:

I challenge you to put your money where your mouth is.

Very interesting

BTW, how do you embed graphics and charts?

Before anyone plunks money down on the elephant, have a look at this:

www.pollster.com/polls/us/10-us-house-genballot.php

I'll wager that now that the bill has passed the Dem advantage will rise to 10+ - the opposite direction that Skippy is predicting.

BTW, how do you embed

BTW, how do you embed graphics and charts?

I just copied the images and pasted. But if you cannot do that as in the case with the Pollster chart, you need to click on the "Source" button (which you see on the top left corner of the comment table), then copy the embedded html code from Pollster and paste it in the comment field. Click on the "soucre" button again and you will see the image/if not click preview to make sure you have the image. I think that should work. Let me try:

Viola!

 Thanks.

Democrats <> communists, nazis, marxists etc.

All this hyperbole, fearmongering and name calling is getting tiresome.

Regardless of whether you approve of health care reform or not, you are doing victims of real fascism (as opposed to Jonah Goldberg's silly variant) a disservice when blathering about Pearl Harbor, the Holocaust etc..

The bottom line is that Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi are elected politicians who are not doing anything illegal. If their vision of "change" is not your cup of coffee, vote for credible Republicans in the next election.

MARCU$

I would agree on principle and point to this article.

Name calling is a scorched earth practice which creates a backslash - no matter what the motives.
