How did this not get more attention?
With reporting deadlines looming, congressional officers have issued revised guidelines that ease some of the lobbying disclosure requirements enacted last year.
The revised guidance, issued by the Clerk of the House and Secretary of the Senate, relaxed the rules for disclosure of lobbyist contributions to parties at this summer’s Democratic and Republican national conventions, among other changes.
So, just as the Democratic convention is getting more and more behind in fundraising, they make it easier for lobbyists for pay for the parties that they can't afford to pay for. How bad is it? From the Wall Street Journal
Under the new guidelines, "it's hard to envision any event at the conventions that would trigger disclosure," said Kenneth Gross, an attorney at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP who advises lobbyists on complying with ethics rules. "This relieves lobbyists from tracking and reporting much information about attending or paying for events involving public officials, that would have been required before."
Just remember this when you see all the promises. What I wonder is where the outrage is.

How About Disgust?
As the host committee is far behind in raising money for the Denver convention I'm not surprised the Dem majority slipped this through the cracks with no publicity it was a Friday after all.....the disgust and outrage should be coming from every GOP corner we have....why isn't one of the IE groups, the RNC, the NRCC or the NRSC putting up a national TV ad to focus attention on this? They haven't even sent out an email yet which is sillier....that could have been sent out 15 minutes max after CQ published this Friday. The MSM is NOT going to report this it's not in their interest and so far it's not in the GOP's interest either....when are they going to learn how to communicate? You need to fight fire with fire. It seems the GOP is more interested in having this capability for their own convention which has NOT had problems fundraising for their convention. If the GOP had pulled a stunt like this there wouldn't be enough mics for all the Dems to express their outrage.....their staffs would be calling the Sunda shows and the radio shows to go vent their outrage....the GOP once again fails to pounce on an issue that the public would take notice of IF they were made aware it....it just disgusts me how the GOP continually fails to recognize a silver platter
