So Fleming is up two, 47-45 with black turnout pegged at 27%.  Bush has a higher favorability rating than Obama but also a higher unfavorable rating as well.  I'll predict an 6-8 point win; it could even bigger given that there doesn't appear to be any early voting.

Let's knock out dollar-bill Jefferson as well for Cao.  Why not Jindal and Palin run a joint ad firing up the few Republicans in the Parish?

I think it's pretty clear by now how much a harder job that governors have over Senators.  Just read the press that Jindal, Palin, Pawlenty, and Crist get from their papers regarding what's going on in their state economies; Senators can just easily pass off the blame to others and that benefitted Obama as he could get away with accomplishing nothing of any substance in his Senate career as he started running for president from the day he was elected (go ahead cite me a non-proliferation bill that nearly everyone in the Senate agreed with or some lobbying bill that allows people to keep on getting free dinners as long as they stand up).  Governors cannot pass off excuses (e.g. it's Bush's fault).

he ran a bipartisan bill with omnibus coburn

on transparency, for one.

but hey, who cares about facts around here?

yawn

Only presidential candidate in history who touted 3 feeble non-controversial bills as his 'signature accomplishments'. Find me a politician against 'transparency' and you've got an ex-politician.

Well done on him voting with Coburn once. Now if only he did it on the real stuff, like immigration, gitmo, taxes, budget, abortion, UN, farm bill, housing bill, cap-and-trade, and the other 95% of things, we might be getting somewhere.

NOBODY votes with omnibus Coburn

he's too busy blocking things to vote on anything! ;-( (that's partially in jest, of course. wicked jest)

So you'll defend GITMO? ain't you callin yourself pro freedom? You don't deserve that moniker, if you believe in government waste, and in government creating conditions so that our citizens must engage in yet more waste.

My favorite Senator votes 100% with Coburn

Funny how that works.  Also, since Coburns a 95% ACU guy, he has plenty of company on the key votes with other good guys like DeMint, Sessions, etc. But they are all good conservatives and not most-liberal-rated-Senator-Obama.

I am for freedom for the innocent, not freedom for terrorists. OTOH, I am all for closing down Gitmo so long as we move them into a half-way house next door to you.

If the 'solution' for Gitmo is closure, what will you do with the prisoners? Release them - then you have made us less safe. Send them to a different prison? Then you've just engaged in a PR stunt. An expensive one at that. or you want to ship them to 3rd world lockups where they can be treated worse but out of sight? hmmm.

" if you believe in government waste" - I dont. Those who think the expensive PR stunt of moving them to a stateside military lockup helps are the ones into waste.

how about that venerable old habeus corpus?

that's all I'm asking for. they're still human for christ's sakes, and I thought we weren't nazi germany (bringing up only because the guilty until ;proven innocent *ducks godwin*)

they've been in prison for how long? for a stinking cabdriver?

For god's sake, just have a trial! Now we are in the strange place of having the military saying "release them, you've held them too long already"

Seriously, I have no doubt that there do exist bad men. I also have no doubt that the Bush Admin has been utterly ineffectual at deterring them. When reporters are smuggling flammable substances onto planes, while carrying Hamas Flags that they identify as Hamas flags to the TSA employees....

This is bad enough, don't get me started on torture.
