Getting Undecideds to Decide
If this is any example, some undecided voters have yet to grasp the important differences between the presidential candidates. How can that be possible with over eighteen months of campaigning?
Have we heard too much or too little about the candidates? McCain being close to the center from the get-go and Obama making a beeline for it once he secured the nomination might explain the apparent sameness but only up to a point. Maybe voters have yet to be convinced that McCain is a man of action and Obama a man of words. McCain will do things and Obama will dither, consult, talk, consult, dither some more, etc. Then there are the past campaign promises on which McCain has delivered but Obama has been too busy campaigning to address. This is important stuff
Regardless, if this is truly how undecideds feel so close to the election, there is room to make the case if McCain gets a firm grasp of a strategy and goes for broke. That's a big "if" but not yet an "if only." Hopefully, it won't ever come to that.
