Rob Simmons has announced that he's running for the Senate against Senator Chris Dodd in Connecticut. http://www.joinrobsimmons.com/

Simmons is a retired member of our armed forces, served in Vietnam and served in the CIA for 10 years. He joined the staff of Senator John Chaffee in 1979.

State Senator Sam Caligiuri is also running

He too has a website up and running  and has appeared on Hannity

Simmons has been around longer and starts off with more support, having represented the state's sprawling Second District. But folks in the rest of the country should not presume he is the only prominent Republican in the race.

Caligiuri is running as the fresher face which he believes more strongly contrasts with Dodd.
